How close am I to finishing Dragon Quest XI *POSSIBLE SPOILERS* Posted: 09 Jan 2021 06:13 AM PST I am in the middle of Dragon Quest XI Definitive edition and loving every minute of it! But (without spoilers) I'm trying to get a gauge of how long it takes to finish the main story. I'm about 31 hours in and I just finished the story with the Knight and saw the flashbacks in Dundrisil and I'm heading to Octagonia while gathering up my party members. I can tell by glancing at walkthroughs that I'm about halfway through the 2nd act. But I've read that the main story actually ends after the 2nd act and that the 3rd act is just playable content after the story is finished. So should i expect the story will come to a conclusion at the end of the 2nd act or do I have to play all the way through act 3 to get a satisfying conclusion? [link] [comments]
Does DQ VI require always online DRM? Posted: 09 Jan 2021 09:55 AM PST I thought android would be best way to get into DQ series because its top down gameplay is similar to other android games (e.g clash of clans) But I heard Final Fantasy android games have always online DRM requirements. Absurd for an offline game. But seeing as its the same publisher as DQ VI, does the same apply to DQ VI too? [link] [comments]

A Question regarding No armor mode Posted: 09 Jan 2021 04:52 AM PST Im wondering since the switch version has that option that you can change your character's outfit without having to actually equip the armor. I was wondering if you can still switch outfits throughout the game even if you cannot equip them. [link] [comments]
[ACT 3 SPOILER QUESTION] Any good ways to grind? Posted: 08 Jan 2021 10:45 PM PST I just went to Colasmos and got my ass beat. I'm level 53. According to google the recommended level is 70 or so. Clearly I fucked up somewhere. What do? [link] [comments]
I got to level 49 at the beginning of the game and am still grinding? Posted: 08 Jan 2021 05:55 PM PST I'm grinding the monsters and occasionally some metal slimes in the desert and I'm trying to see how fun the game is when I max out in the beginning wish me luck! [link] [comments]
I just need your opinion on some stuff I wanted to do in DQ11. Posted: 08 Jan 2021 02:29 PM PST I wanted to get the fastest possible time in DQ11s final and secret trial and also on the superboss. 3 records. Doing that stuff with the least amount of moves. I couldn't find anyone who did it as fast as me. Today I found a Japanese guy who did all these things in the fastest possible time and obviously has the world record for all of them. I'm kinda disappointed, but I could have expected that. Should I still go for it and do all these things as fast as him? Faster is not possible. I wanted to upload these videos too. I can't get the "world record" but I can be as fast as the world record. But I'd kinda copy him. I found all methods myself, put hours of thoughts into this. But since he did it before me, I'd still copy him. Or should I just give up? Be like 'fuck it, i can't be the best here.'? [link] [comments]
What do I need to forge the sword of light? Posted: 08 Jan 2021 07:45 PM PST I've gone to sniflehelm, Gallopolis, and hotto for the story. What am I missing? When I try to forge the sword it says I'm missing something. Please help [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Jan 2021 02:50 PM PST She says someone is going to win it, dang sure. I've been here for 8 hours and not even won once in that time using 12 and 14. Is the xbox version somehow different as everyone's winning it and I've used about 500000 tokens trying here. OK I'm over it now 🤣 [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Jan 2021 04:27 PM PST I wanted to share this video here because I am legit excited to show this stuff off, but I was also wondering if anyone could help me figure out where some of these items are from, particularly the Zoma figure. Some sources seem to point towards crane game prizes and others say that it was a standalone figure that was sold. Anyone have any insight, please? [link] [comments]
What should I do in preparation for the act 3 final boss Posted: 08 Jan 2021 12:15 PM PST I'm playing DQ11 as my first dragon quest game (as well as first traditional rpg) and I'm at the point in act 3 where it's basically just "get ready for the final boss", what should I do? Should I finish the trials or just grind until I'm in a high enough level? And if so, to what level should I grind? [link] [comments]

DQXI S - I love this game but its number balance really sucks Posted: 08 Jan 2021 01:52 PM PST First Dragon Quest I ever played, and I am impressed in almost every possible way. The story, the graphics, the music, the turn based combat, the sheer amount of carefully crafted content in the game. All of this is amazing. However, there is one thing which at the beginning was only slightly annoying, but now is starting to ruin the experience for me (70 hours into the game, near completion). This game actively discourages strategizing in battles. This is due to a poorly thought out set of spells and items, in which there is always a choice which is clearly superior in almost every possible situation. For example, the Luminary's Quadraslash is always the superior spell. Picking any other spell is a mistake. Yes it costs more mana, but mana is virtually infinite in this game (which is another purely numeric issue). Similarly, the strongest spell I have available on Jade right now is Multithrust. That spell is my choice 100% of the times. It doesn't even matter what the other spells are supposed to be for. Even if other spells claim to be particularly well suited against zombies or flying creatures, Multithrust still significantly out-damages them. Same story with Rab and his Pearly Gates. Once again, that spell deals to EACH enemy more damage than Rab's most powerful single target spell is able to deal to a single enemy. Unfortunately, items are equally terribly balanced. The passive abilities would be interesting if they actually did anything meaningful. Reducing the probability of being confused by 10%? That is completely irrelevant... I'll just go for the armor with the highest defense number instead, thank you. To conclude, I understand that Dragon Quest was never about strategy, and as I said I am enjoying the game in many ways. It's just such a shame that the game goes the extra mile to create hundreds of interesting items and spells but in the end they are never used because they completely lack a use-case.
