    Super Boss Troubles.. (Spoilers)

    So I'm going for 100℅ completion & I'm 98℅ there. The only thing I have left to do is to defeat the Timewym & get Jade's final outfit.

    Problem is, I can't seem to get even remotely close to defeating this super boss. I don't even get past the tail before I die & a lot of the party die in one hit.

    I've been stuck on him for about a month and a half now. But my stubbornness refuses to let me quit now.

    What's the best strategy to go about defeating him? Is there a key? Is it based on luck? Ideal lineup? Preparations? Etc?

    New to the series with some questions

    hi im super new here, Dragon Quest XI is my first game in the series and i just started playing a few days ago. not new to JRPG games mostly Legend of Dragoon and of course the FF series. my main questions are 1. is it normal for enemies to be getting so many turns in a row? I just fought the Ice witch in sniflheim and she had 8 turns in a row where she just did AOE attacks and killed my whole main party and backup party without me getting to make a move. is the boss soft locked until later? or was it just some crazy good rng/crazy stats on her part?

    1. the pepped up mechanic. is it completely random or is there like a karma bar that forces it after so many turns? and is there a way to increase the likelihood or force it outside of nomal skill tree upgrades?

    2. is kinda an opinion thing are dual swords worth running? i really want to use dual swords but i keep respecing because it just seems like greatsword is so much better. idk if im just usinf the wrong skills or if maybe something later makes them better or if they just flat out aren't as good.

    I'm trying to craft "supreme sword of light" but the game does not allow me. I went to the Forge and it says I'm lacking materials.

    New to JRPGs. Deciding my party in XI has been stressful.

    As the title says lol. I haven't played many JRPGs or RPG in general, mostly just Pokémon, but there I usually just spam attacks and win easily.

    I've been managing with equipment and skills and so just fine as of now (27 hours in, about to arrive at Puerto Valor), but having 7 party members has been tough! Mostly because the ones I got first just feel more useful than the new ones.

    Why swap Serena or Veronica for Rab when he's weaker at magic attacks and worse at healing (and he's barely stronger than Serena in attack, even less if I swap her Wand for a Spear when I'm not healing in-battle). And Jade just feels like another damage focused party member, and for that I already have Erik (with all the buffs from Veronica and the abilities he has).

    Is it wrong to keep the basic party of Hero, Erik, Veronica, and Serena for the rest of the game? Will I have a hard time later on by doing this? So far I've managed just fine not using Sylvando more than once, or Rab/Jade too since they've recently joined. But I can't help but feel guilty by just ignoring the new additions haha.
