    I recognize this has been asked a million times before. I purchased both the PS4 and Switch versions of DQXI. Bought the PS4 version for like $30 over the summer, but then held off from playing until Switch came out as I wanted to experience that version (with orchestral soundtrack additional story content) first. Loved the game so much that I decided I wanted to get the Platinum trophy on PS4. I also have a PS4 Pro and 65" 4K TV, and wanted to experience the best looking version of the game. Currently in the middle of Act 1, and while I'm definitely missing the orchestrated soundtrack and certain QoL enhancements (and missing battle quotes!), I'm still loving it. And it looks GORGEOUS.

    I would absolutely be willing to purchase a DLC that gave me just the orchestrated soundtrack and battle speed options. I've already experienced the new story content and I don't care about the 2D version (I can always play that on the Switch if I want). I'd even be willing to buy a physical re-release, so long as my game saves would (hopefully) transfer over.

    I know SE said they were "undecided" last year. I just hope they realize that they're leaving out a lot of PS4 DQ fans who would really want to experience the additional content (or at least some of it) in the best looking console version (PC aside) of the game. Really hope since the Switch version has been out for a while that they announce something soon. I'd even settle for just the orchestrated soundtrack and battle speed only...lol

    Beaten DQ II, what's next? DQ III or DQ XI S?

    It is with heavy heart that I beat DQ II last night and despite its flaws, it was an awesome game and I had a good time. Though I used a walkthrough because getting lost in a dungeon or what to do next isn't fun for me. So now I beat it, what do you guys I suggest that I play next? I'm sticking with DQ games on the Switch, which is my go-to platform. I own all the DQ games and I beat DQ I-II and somewhat finished DQ XI S (got through the ending scene but I know there's more to story after). Should I finish or start over (it's been a while since I played DQ XI S) with DQ XI S or start DQ III instead?

    Anyone else sad dragon quest “as a service” is not a thing in the west

    I just finished my second play through of DQ11 and just kinda sad it's gonna be another 3 years or so till I play a new dragon quest. I really wish DQ walk or DQX came west so I could casually play my hobby game full time. There is only so much replaying of mainline single player games you can do lol. I know there are other games out there, but just as some people just play WoW all the time I could do that with DQ. The combat system, art, and world is just perfect for me. I go through a slow period of gaming in between games for me. Monster hunter is only other game I like enough to sink a lot of hours into.

    DW IV Character Usage

    Now I know the ultimate answer is "Use who you want" but I am curious, what party comp did you find yourself using throughout Chapter 5 of the game? Right now my strongest characters are Hero, Mara, Alena, and Nara (in the low-mid 20s) Just beat Keeleon and got Ragnar.

    DQXI Character Builds

    This is my first DQ game and I'm currently at Octagonia, my current party is:

    Luminary(lvl 23): Greatsword Guard, Attack Power +5, Crit Hit +5, Helichopter, Pep Chance +5, Zap, Deftness.

    Erik(lvl23): Flame Slash, Attack Power +10, Crit Hit +2, Sword Stance, half-inch, Dodge chance+2, Agility +10

    Sylvando(lvl 21): Hot Lick, Sobering Slap, Tap Dance, Fuddle Dance

    Veronica(lvl 23): MP Absorb +2, Beelzfreeze, Minor MP Recovery,Wizard Ward, Magical Might +10, Spooky Aura, Max MP +10. I'm curious if this is a ok set up for my current area/level.
