    I posted a little while ago asking if I should get DQXI on pc or switch, and someone brought to my attention the switch has a pretty dang long demo. I've been playing it like crazy, and I'm amazed at how good it is. I really wasn't expecting that. I'm definitely gonna drop the 60 bucks when the demo is over.

    Regardless what direction DQXII goes in, I really hope it brings back the "endless post game" elements of DQIX

    With us now assured DQXII is well in production it's only natural to start wondering what the game might end up like. Regardless though, I'd really like to see a return of a deep class system and endlessly generating dungeons like in DQIX. No matter what your thoughts are on the story of that game, you can't deny it provided the most bang for your buck. Imagine if they even took those concepts further with new auto-generating quests and bosses to keep us even busier. Plus give us hundred of equipment pieces with visible customization and DQXI's crafting and this game could be a 500-800 hour sink.

    And the best part is that it wouldn't need to detract from the core experience. It could still have a wonderful story, great characters and so forth, with a lot of extras for those that are interested.

    How is exp distributed in DQXIS?

    It feels like it's evenly distributed but Serena always seems to gain less exp then Erik even if she's in or out of the party.

    He almost gained 2 levels once before she got 1

    I have the best armor for Hendrick, Hero (minus Erwin Shield) and Serena. Everyone have 2 Catholicon. Rings. How the hell do I beat them!!!!

    A long while ago I fought the final boss, celebrated when I beat it, and went to the bathroom. When I got back I realized the final boss had a second form that I was completely not prepared for and it beat me so bad I didn't play again for months. I went back today, leveled up a little, went in with a better strategy, and finally beat Nimzo. Very epic

    So I finally beat the secret boss in XI S...

    And it took me 57 turns. My main party was Hero, Hendrik, Serena, and Veronica, and I was just basically alternating between using Magic Burst, refilling Veronica's MP, and using Yggdragon's Blessing for immunity. I managed to take out the tail first and I was about to take out the head, but he wiped my party after the pep power wore off. My backup team comes in and the minute they do, it dies to a single use of Double Down.

    I love this game to death, but that battle nearly gave me a panic attack. But it was so worth it to finally have every costume in the game.

    I unlocked hendrik and recently defeated Booga and Jade rejoined. My party before was Hero/Sylvando/Jade/Rab, but I am now considering to stick with Hero/Sylvando/Hendrik/Rab. What do you guys think?

    This is my first Dragon Quest game (XI)

    I'm completly new to the series. I really have been enjoying this game!! It's very fun, the story is fine, most of the characters are good, and this game is just well polished and fun to play. HOWEVER, why did they get so lazy with the music in the game? Seriously. This game would be legendary if they put time into making a memorable soundtrack. Most of the songs have a 15 second loop. Town songs, Out in the field, and just most songs are looped or repeated. It just drives me insane because this game is way to great too have a mediocre soundtrack. It's made by Square-Enix as well so they have no excuse for this. Why is the soundtrack overall, done so lazy in this game?

    This might have been brought up before but it just occurred to me.

    Consider the use of split, parallel timelines in the story of DQXI. Think about the number "11" and how not only is it made of two separate, parallel lines, but also how it's made up of the same number twice.

    I'd love to say that 11 is an alternate 1, because the number is literally two "1"s, but obviously the story leans more towards being an alternate (edit: or prequel) to 3. Still, I firmly believe that the use of parallel timelines is a purposeful play with the number 11.

    Character outfits.

    Was curious if it's possible to equip character specific outfits without it changing their appearance in battle/cutscenes? Mainly wearing it for the stats atm. I'm playing the dragon quest 11 switch version. If it's not possible it's cool was just wondering.
