    Is 6 that bad?

I'm very curious to check it out since not too many games have different worlds you can travel between and I'm a sucker for job classes. But I've heard tbe story isn't good?

Is Dragon Quest XI for me?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 08:27 AM PST

Newcomer to the series, but a sucker for JRPGs. I adore the Persona series for its combat and characters. I always play for more of the gameplay than the story (setting the difficulty to the hardest version).

Some good things I've heard about the game...

    • - It's 80 hours long
    • It is aesthetically gorgeous

...but not much else. Some bad things...

    • Combat is a bit linear apparently

...and that's it. I also have some questions about the game:

    1. Does the game have a "pokemon" approach of money (Figuratively endless supply, you don't need to worry about what you buy) or one where money is scarce and you have to manage your finances well?
    2. How grindy is the game?
    3. How important is Mana conservation (how often can you restore it, does it come with any consequences, etc)?
    4. In how many ways is the Persona franchise similar to Dragon Quest XI?
    5. (ETA) How important are your decisions in the story?

    Thanks :)

New to the DQ series, started on XI, few questions if thats okay?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 05:41 AM PST

I'm palying blind and with no prior googling/knowledge.

So one thing I noticed is that i can see how much XP i need to the next level via the church i went to in my home town, but under my attributes tab, i can see it anyway, so i'm unsure of this point.

And all i need is a simple answer for this one,

i can run around the circle while in fight, i assume this is relevant or is it a gimmick?

and does the skills i learn say, on the one handed sword path unlock and are useable for a greatsword if i'm using that?

thanks! i'm really enjoying XI so far.

    DQXI Ending (Massive Spoiler Alert)

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 07:38 PM PST

I finished the game about 5 minutes ago, and i must say that it is my favorite video game from all time, i knew that playing every DQ game before XI was a good choice, i remember that i started playing DQ in 2014 with DQ8 for the 3DS and then continued to play almost every game in the main saga (Except X), and i must say, those end credits cinematics hitted me in the feels, and realising that every game that i have loved from this franchise started here, and that music from the end, it was gorgeous, it was like a massive nostalgia orgasm to my ears, i literally have no words, the only way to comunicate myself about this ending is only by typing, Yuji Horii has created a masterpiece of an JRPG, and i know more will come from this man that is the father of JRPG's.

Oh Boy i cannot wait to play the spinoffs :')

Is Dragon Quest V for DS multilanguage?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2020 02:01 AM PST

Hi guys! I am an italian fan of Dragon Quest and I usually play videogames only if they have italian subtitles (and that sucks, because there are some good jrpg that don't have italian subtitles). Since it is really difficult to find an italian copy of Dragon Quest V for the DS, if I buy a copy from England (or other European countries) will it have italian subtitles?

What's the equivalent of Final Fantasy IV of the Dragon Quest series?

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 12:31 PM PST

Some background about me is the first true turnbased JRPG (Idk if stuff like pokemon count) I ever finished was Final Fantasy IV the Complete Collection and it immediately became my favorite game ever and still is a top 3 favorite game ever for me. Im a pretty big FF fan and like to play a lot of different types of games, but Im feeling burnt out by the game I'm currently playing (Madden 20) so I thought I'd look to a traditional JRPG series. I recently downloaded the demo for XIS and have been looking into playing this series for a while, but never got around to it. Also I have a friend who owns most of the series, so getting the games is no problem for me.

So my question is whats the equivalent to FF4 in the DQ series. Basically the first game that really captures the "soul" of the series and JRPGs, but still holds up pretty well and gets you sucked in. I don't mind if a game's story is character driven (like some FE games) or story driven (like FF4 or 7) or even politically driven (like FF12) as long as its well done and really makes me feel it. Also it would be a plus if the game's a good entry point for the series as well.

Where to buy DQ lV or DQ Vl for DS

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 05:44 PM PST

I have V from when I was much younger and there are the only 2 games I don't own in my DQ collection, I don't even want a full box and what not just the game. Does anyone know where I can find them?
