So DQ11 on normal difficulty is a whole different story. Posted: 12 Jun 2020 01:11 PM PDT I recently picked up DQ 11 S for Switch with a sale going on. I had played this on PC on the higher difficulty setting (super strong monsters) when reviewers complained it was too easy. I quickly became frustrated with how much I was getting crushed and spending hours of grinding seemed useless. It got to a point where I just didn't finish the game. This time I'm playing on the normal difficulty and while it has been a breeze, I am enjoying it a lot more. I can go through the story at a better pace and I feel like I have more breathing room with character customization i.e. it's okay if Serena is not just a full time healbot. Anyway, curious what everyone else thinks of difficulty. [link] [comments]

DQ6 Unintentionally (?) Funny Moment (Spoilers) Posted: 13 Jun 2020 01:59 AM PDT I just finished the dream sequence where we learned the location of the legendary armour. Did anyone else find it extremely funny? I mean it did show a tragedy, and we all knew it was going to be a tragedy going in, since we saw the castle in ruins. NPCs and party chat all remarking that summoning a demon to fight the archfiend was a remarkably horrible idea, and yet we still participated in bringing the offering to the ceremony. And just as expected everything went to shit. And then we escaped to the real world, and when the dude in the ruins tried to buy the armour, I said "Yes" and laughed uncontrollably. And then I went down the well again and saw the whole sequence again, laughing like crazy the whole time. [link] [comments]

[DQ11S] Trying to sort out party members Posted: 13 Jun 2020 02:17 AM PDT I just got Rab and Jade and now I'm a bit overwhelmed on character choices. Is there a "best" team that one should strive for? I don't know who is particularly good or what weapons to use for each character. I've just been using Lumi, Erik, Veronica, and Serena so far. It seems like the game wanted to give me 2 options per "classic" role. Erik/Jade are nimble damage dealers, Veronica/Rab are magic casters, Sylvando/Serena are heal/buff supports. Should I worry about the other characters? What are the weapons to use? Right now Lumi is Greatsword, Erik is Dual Knives, Veronica is Heavy Wands, Serena is Wand/Shield. I heard Sylvando can be pretty busted but got no idea about any other character. Any other tips on how to approach this? Thanks for any and all helpful info. [link] [comments]

[DQ11] A different Jormunn question, not about beating him. (Spoilers) Posted: 12 Jun 2020 07:19 PM PDT I'm not asking how to beat him. Once Cobblestone is rebuilt where is he? I expected him to hang around. Did I miss him? [link] [comments]
I'm making a video about "Seven" from Xenoblade but I have something to fact check with you guys. Posted: 12 Jun 2020 06:16 PM PDT People in the Dragon Quest community refer to the 8(?)th party member in 11(?) as 8 right? I remember hearing about this when they were a spirit in with the rest of the party smash and there was a bit of outrage. I still plan on playing 11 so try and keep spoilers to a minimum. Tockles walking around in random areas. Posted: 12 Jun 2020 05:46 PM PDT Do the little tickle ghosts walking around in certain areas of the map mean anything? I know the regular colored ones give you passwords, but are the little ghost ones meant to lead you toward one nearby, or are they just there for show? [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jun 2020 02:19 PM PDT Hey I just have a quick question about DQXI: Can you swap the party members out and just play as a lonely adventurer? [link] [comments]
about moving from dragon quest xi original to the definitive edition Posted: 12 Jun 2020 12:07 PM PDT I want to buy the definitive edition on the ps 4 after I played about 30 hours of the original one and i don't really wanna start over again my question is: can I use my old save files from the original one in the definitive edition? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 05:43 PM PDT Possible spoilers ahead, you have been warned. So I just finished my 110 hour play through on PC (orchestral mod), whew! I won't call it the perfect game, but I feel like this may be Yuji Hori's perfect game. As a fan of the series when they were mere NES titles, I feel like this is his vision fully realized. And with the help of Toriyama and Sugiyama (despite his questionable beliefs), he pulled it off. I'll be honest, I was growing a little tired of the fetch quests, back tracking, and mushroom cloud of crafting in Act III, but the final credits were worth it. Heaps of nostalgia - Dragon Lord, Malroth, Zoma, Necrosaro... It was as if the team was basically crediting the 35 years Hori and Co. gave to this series. This game is the capstone of 10 previous titles. This game is Dragon Quest. Period. Back in 1988, he probably thought DQIII was his magnum opus. His passion for that specific title really came through in DQXI - orb hunting, giant flying creature, the game world reflecting our own (in geographic/cultural ways), evil leading to bigger evil, many of the musical tracks, and a sizable chunk of the bestiary. Don't get me wrong, DQXI borrows from all the prior games, but there was something about III that really permeated this title...all the way up to the Act III credits. That WAS supposed to be the opening scene of DQIII at the very end, right? And what was up with the two books bearing the Luminary's mark??? Anyways, don't want to lose track here. Hats off to the team. You did it. And while I hear there is a DQXII in the works, they could stop here and be damn proud. [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jun 2020 03:35 PM PDT Hello, in the 3D mode I can change the outfit of a character without having to use the outfit stats, but I can't find this option in the 2D mode (but outfits are available if u actually equip the right armor, the sprite will change accordingly) Am I missing something or is it plain stupid from them?
