Dragon Quest just realized this but with how tall Hendrick, Obsidian straight up has to be like an 8 foot tall horse or something lmao

I already know about a few big events such as who the eighth party member is, hendrick,and that one of the party members dies? If im wrong about this dont correct me, because i only know the events by name and not how any of it unfolds. But yeah im expecting there to be lots more after this
Also, do you get locked out of any sidequests post-yggdrasil?

XI's Roulette Jackpot sidequest is abject misery

I've been at this for 3 hours and I've had 4 spins where it moves past my slot by a pixel or stops just short of it.

I have an inclination to complete every sidequest when I play RPGs but jesus this one is actually rage-inducing.

EDIT: And now the next quest I found is for killing a rarified monster aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I hate RNG aaaaaaaaaaa

[DQ11S] Quick way to get seeds of skill (act 3 spoilers maybe)

I don't know if this also works in the original DQ11.

Setup

The ideal setup for this is Serena, Veronica and Jade all wearing the Uniforme de l'Academie, Erik with the Pirate king Pendant and all the remaining accessories slots filled with bunny tails, but you can also start without the bunny tails because you will obtain some along the way. Check the end of this post to see how to get all the items above.

Setting the rain

What you need to do is go to the Dundrasil campsite and hope that it rains. If it doesn't, use the campsite to skip days until it does, maybe with the help of the weather cow. Keep in mind the moment of the day in which you wake up and it rains.

Actual grinding

After you wake up go find the Malicious great keepers (they fall from the sky) and fight them, hoping that they drop the seeds of skill. If they stop spawning, save, quit to the title screen, load your game and restart Actual grinding until you run out of MP.

If you run out of MP

When this happens, go to any inn, choose "rest awhile" and select the time of day following the one you woke up in. Then go back to Dundrasil. If it still rains, repeat Actual grinding, and if it doesn't, repeat Setting the rain

Tips

If either only Erik or both Erik and Jade become pepped up, switch out Veronica or Serena for the Hero. Then use the ability Pep Up to get him pepped up. After he's pepped up, use Itemised kill/Hallelujah (depending on who else is pepped up), as they both have a 100% chance of obtaining items from enemies. Don't try to force this situation with Pep pips/ Pep pops because it isn't worth it.

Where to find everything

The three Uniforme de l'academie can each be obtained in a different way. One can be found inside a chest within L'academie, one can be obtained as a reward from a side quest found within L'academie, and the third one is the reward for reaching 25 mini medal stamps. The Pirate king Pendant can be obtained by returning Mia to her original state once again. The bunny tails can be obtained from spiked hares or Malicious spiked hares.

I have question for you. Do you guys feel nostalgic when playing any DQ game even though its your first time playing the game?

I've recently played VIII first and felt nostalgic. Picked up XI for the first time and again felt nostalgic. And I love it. Feels like being back home or something.

I wonder if its only me.

Vicious Metal King Slimes Not Spawning?

Hey everyone, So I was using trial Isle to farm metal Kings and it was going super well, I gained about 15 levels in 2 hours. However, I'm level 90+ now and any time I go there I can't find a single vicious metal King. Barely any king cures likes are Spawning in either. Instead, I am just getting vicious boss trolls every instance. I've been trying for a few hours now.

Is there any reason for this, or is my luck just really bad?

Play DQXI now? Or be a stubborn perfectionist and brute-force my way through DQII/III

The Tim Rogers review of DQXI had me immediately sold on this series, which I never had an interest in previously. I figured I'd like to play 1-3 at least, then maybe 5 and 8 before playing 11. I finished the first game last year and genuinely had a very good time doing so, but I've put down DQII over and over again for the past year just, getting frustrated and forgetting about it.

I bought DQXI today during the eShop sale, and I'm seriously considering just skipping II/III and just playing this one now. It's all very subjective of course, but I'm still curious to hear what input you folks have.
