Posted: 09 Aug 2020 08:55 AM PDT Played a bit of DQ1-3 as a kid on the NES emulators and enjoyed them an awful lot but was bad at clues so never got far. Spent hours making parties in DQ3 cuz it was fun putting friends into the game. I saw Switch has a remake of the original trilogy as well as DQ11. Are the remakes good? Should I play DQ11 if I enjoy the world building (literal and figurative) of DQBuilders 1 and 2? Also noticed the hero is in smash, so I might buy it for that. Also also heard of dragon quest heroes? Looks rad.. dunno if there's news on a switch release. Noticed lots of speculation over the past couple years. Thanks! First post! [link] [comments] | ||

| Just finished II with my daughter Posted: 08 Aug 2020 02:20 PM PDT My eight year old daughter has really enjoyed playing the first two games of the series. I've done a lot of the grinding after she goes to bed, and we've leaned pretty heavily on walkthroughs, although I've been making sure she doesn't get spoilers. (The final twist in II got her just as good as in the original.) I can definitely see how playing it without help would be very frustrating (tbeing able to save states on an emulator is pretty nice, too), but she's pretty good about remembering what NPCs say and figuring things out. But I can't imagine trying to get through the cave to Rhone without a map. Jesus. I've been impressed with the way this has held her attention vs the mobile games she's been playing. Nice way to spend some quality time during the pandemic. Looking forward to starting in on III soon.... [link] [comments] | ||

Anyways why is DQ9 cheaper than the other dragon quest games? Is it because it sucks? I heard it's multiplayer based.
