    What past have you made up for your party members in 3 or 9?

    So you know that in other dragon quest games your party members all have their own backstory and you tend to discover more about it as you play? However 3 and 9 you are hiring mercenaries and they have no impact on the story beyond helping you kill stuff. Well as a thought exercise I just want to see if anyone came up with a story like a reason why they joined the hero or if there were some skeletons in the closet.

    Favorite weapons for Erik?

    I've started a new playthrough on Harder monsters, and i wonder which route i should go.

    Everywhere i read it seems like people have different opinions. Boomerang good or crap, Sword the best, daggers only good on bosses.

    I think I'm stuck DQ11

    So I got to the part of the game where you explore Rab' s memories and I'm on the boss fight. The problem is, since I didn't use Rab on my party until now, he has no weapons or armor equipped and none in the bag to equip. This means I can't really do much damage to the boss and she can kill me in two turns due to my lack of armor. I don't think there was anywhere I could've acquired equipment during the dream sequence which means I am effectively softlocked , I can't beat the boss and there's nothing I can do to grind levels. I wanted to ask if anyone knows any way out of this, I really don't want to have to restart my whole game.

    New to the series, starting with DQXI. Quick question

    When does this game start getting harder? I just got past the part where the wizard girl gets her magic back, and so far it's been pretty easy as far as JRPGs go.

    There hasn't been a battle that I've had to repeat, and I'm barely fighting enough enemies to afford all the newest equipment and fill up the monster book, so being over leveled isn't my problem. (Currently level 16.)

    Slime Quest?

    Heyo. I was at the casino in Octagonia, and I started up a few slots of Slime Quest for fun. Hours later, I'm now on a 60+ Boss Streak, with about 240k saved up in winnings, and all 6 orbs. As I type this, good ol' Goolysses is still racking up those tokens. I'm just a bit curious if this is normal or not? It seems like he's invincible, any time a boss defeats him he just revives and gets pepped up then slime spanks them. Even the one time that he did get defeated, and I got the screen with my results of how many bosses I defeated and how much I made in winnings, I made another spin to finish my Slime Time, then he revived again. On one hand, I want to continue getting all these tokens so that I eventually earn enough for all the exclusive rewards in all the casinos, (Which I've found to cost about 1 Million) but on the other hand, I kind of wanna go to bed. Since the Auto-Play requires me to press it once again after every 100 spins, I can't get much if I just leave it on overnight. But I can't just quit while on a streak like this, can I? (Sorry for the dumb question, and for how wordy it is, by the way, lol.)

    I've been trying to win at the roulette table for about 3 hours now betting on just 12 and 14 like many guides have suggested. The bunny girl gives me the line "I feel like someone will win soon" but I've seen other players have her add "I'm pretty dang sure of it" at the end. Does this have any effect on your chances of winning the jackpot? I'm about to go crazy to finish this quest.

    How does one achieve 300 hit combo in Dragon Quest Heroes? (Asking for trophy)

    I've been trying to get the combo in Fields of Gooold as Isla since a guide told me that was the best way, but I'm always just shy of 300. Are there any better ways to achieve it? Did it come naturally to you guys?

    I'm currently at the gryphon boss fight and getting my ass handed to me. This is my first DQ game and I'm confused how people think it's too easy.

    About a certain character's death... [SPOILERS]

    So Veronica is "dead" after sacrificing herself to save the others.

    Now up 'till now I've felt that Serena was far and away the worst party member in the game. Not just in terms of gameplay(look at that shitty, tiny little skill tree; and Rab and Sylvando have both been better healers ever since they joined) but as a character too. She's the archetypical white mage character who's kind and soft-spoken and all about healing others. Seen it a million times, it's one of the worst and most boring archetypes out there. And even though I like Veronica's personality, she's pretty one-dimensional and doesn't get much focus either.

    HOWEVER. If they actually have Veronica die and let Serena effectively "absorb" her, they may be able to salvage Serena as a character. Give her Veronica's offensive spells and maybe have her personality shift to become a unified version of the two, and that'd be badass. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure that they don't have the stones to go through with this, and they'll cop out and bring Veronica back. But I hope I'm wrong.
