    I was reading about a Dragon Quest manga called Emblem of Roto that apparently takes place between DQIII and DQI. The hero and his foil come from the kingdoms of Loran and Carmen, with each kingdom having half of Roto/Erdrick's token.

    Obviously neither of these kingdoms are mentioned in any of the games, so I was wondering: does the manga address the geographic location of these lands? It would be interesting to know.

    The most likely candidates seem to me like the desert area west of Moonbrooke and the eastern part of Cannock where the Cave of the Lake is. Both are close to Alefgard and there aren't any known settlements there. But even if that was true, we still wouldn't know which was which.

    Warning DQ 11 Act 1 and 2 spoilers: Anyone else find the start to Act 2 depressingly slow?

    Hey all so playing through the definitive edition of DQ 11 for the Switch for the first time (thank you Summer sale!)

    I'm about 40 hours in and just recently got to Act 2 and man is the start of this such an uninteresting tease. The world just got thrown into chaos and needs our hero and I have to spend a couple hours playing solo as Parade master Sylvando, Erik, Jade, and Rab?

    And then I'm back to playing just as Hero (Hendrik just joined my team) and I can only imagine it will take 10+ hours to regain my whole party.

    I just find the concept really uninteresting and know I'm going to dread the gameplay until I get my favorite 4 man party back at least. Such a drag compared to the amazingness that was Act 1.

    Did anyone else stop progressing in DQ5 once you got sucked into the casino?

    Casinos are still closed because of COVID in real life. As soon as I got this far in the game I just kept coming back, slaying monsters just so I can keep dumping my profits to play all the different games. Man I miss gambling in real life.

    Hall of Remembrance Level 3 Rant

    I am so close to finishing up the post-game stuff with this game but this part has me annoyed. I think I finally got a strategy to be working, but the fact is that one thing goes wrong then I know for a fact that I have to start over. This is my main plan.

    8 - He is here to spam Forbarrence. With Serena giving him snap crackle and pop. And also using buff on him on the 2nd fight. (I don't find it necessary for the first fight to use buff on him). He also has a venus Tear +3 to reduce lighting damage in the second fight.

    Hero - He will be using either Swords Dance or Ultimate Sword Power or using Omniheal during mid-battle if Serena needs to cast buffs. He has the Erdwin Set so MP isn't an issue here.

    Serena - She is mainly here for buffs that I stated above but also to provide healing. Because how long this fight if she and Veronica are pepped up I like to use Arobia's Blessing. I used almighty magic burst in the other levels, but it just seems too risky here.

    Veronica - Here for pure damage. To me, Erik requires too much setting up where it would end up being too risky. Plus she definitely out damages Jade here. Maybe I could use Omphle and sap to help set up Erik for Divide + Victumiser. That would do more damage than what Hero and Veronica can do together, but just one critical hit or status ailment and his setup are gone. Perhaps I can try using Erik when 8 is all set up during the second fight.

    Another thing to note that 8, Hero, Serena, Veronica, and Erik all have Cathonican rings+3 to help prevent getting a status ailment.

    I also will use Sylvando to cure beguilement and use Ladies First to help set up Hendrick in the second fight.

    Granted I keep getting really and close but keep coming up short. And it is frustrating because the sequence of these two fights takes a long time for me. Ironically not being healed before the second fight is something very easy to workaround. Although I was ticked off when I saw that during the first time I got to the second fight.

    I didn’t think this would be that hard of a decision but it is I’m not a fan how they sorta want you to pick Bianca but oh well I guess that’s why we have extra save files.

    How to buy forging materials for a cheaper price? [DQXI]

    I'm definetely sure I saw the price for the platinum ore at ~693gold moments ago, but it has raised to 800 now. How does this work? I'm building the drasilian set in hope it helps me against the giant squid that defeated me like 4 times already.

    edit: silly mistake, the value shown was the gold necessary to hit the actual price. I was short on gold because it was stored at the bank. Thanks. btw the squid has been defeated.

    [MUSIC QUESTION, Act 1 SPOILERS] Searching for song(s) at Dundrasil.

    Hey people, playing through Act 1 for the first time and I just got through the Dundrasil Ritual scene. The music (and the scene itself) was incredible but I can't find which OSTs have them, and I know DQ11 uses music from other games. What's the music that plays during the ritual and while Rab asks you to leave him alone afterwards?
