    So I'm almost 30 hours into DQVII and I have yet to get to the island that allows me choose classes. I just made it to the Roamer Encampment. Can someone tell me how close I am to unlocking and accessing alltrades abbey without spoiling the game for me? If it's much farther I imight just abandon this game entirely and just play a different DQ game.

    I got DQ9 multiplayer working on emulation! If we combine this with Parsec it will be possible to play with a friend online!

    Dragon Quest 6 DS Question

    I am currently looking for 6 to complete my trilogy and to correct the error I made years ago when I traded in my DS collection to Gamestop.

    The North American version is crazy expensive right now, so I'm looking at other regions on EBay.

    1. Would the Japanese copies have an English language option? Would I even be able to play it on my NA DS?

    2. I found a PAL English copy for around $90. Would I have any issues playing that on my North American DS?

    All my consoles are North American - DS lite, DSi, 3DS XL, and New 2DS XL

    How do status effects wear off?

    Does anyone know the formula or at least the general rule for how long status effects last/what causes them to wear off? Is it a specified number of turns, a calculated one, or is there a chance every turn of it going from "on" to "almost off" to "off?"

    Any word on DQ 10 being ported to the West?

    Hi all,

    I just spent the day getting DQ 10 to work on my PC in America, and though it now works great, my ignorance of the Japanese language is still quite the barrier.

    I'd just love to see it ported to the West. Has S-E said anything about possibly doing so?

    Any way to speed up tickington quest 2d fights? And is there any point to using the examine function?

    I wanna do them but the fights are making me claw at my face they're so slow

    edit - my bad, i really thought my ultra-fast option would've carried over but everything in 2d is just reset to normal for some reason, including repeating tutorials I've already gotten

    examine function still stands though

    Dragon Quest Mobile original titles (Quest for the Stars/Tact) are fantastic

    I never used to be much of mobile gamer, but being in grad school, there are long incubation times etc, where my mobile phone has saved me from boredom.

    I played some mobile ports of the original DQ games (I-V) and they are all fantastic ports on iOS and its a great way to play through these titles assuming you dont have a DS!

    I also want to note that the two original DQ games, are fantastic and they really put a lot of love and care for these small spinoff games. DQ: To the Stars has a ton of callouts to original DQ games and features 3D rendered bosses of older games and funny/punny stories that tie them together.

    Same with DQ:Tact! It has solid mechanics, beautifully 3D rendered monsters and the DQI tie in had a really cute old school NES/Famicom animation at the start.

    They put so much love into it and it really is great. Also they are not that predatory with purchasing or spending money within the app minus one pop up per day.

    My point is- please give these a try if you haven't! I also hope Squenix keeps up the great work with this and are getting the recognition they deserve!

    It seems kinda odd that we went to DQIX to DQXI but no DQX? I know it's the MMORPG but heck. why not give us the DQX???
