    I finally finished DQ XI on the Switch after owning it since September of 2019, and I think the true ending of the game is my favorite ending of any game I've ever played. I absolutely loved the game, and I can't wait to play more games in the series. Any recommendations?

    Why do some physical attacks do a set amount of damage and other run on the attack stat?

    For example Blade of Ultimate Power always seem to do double 700 damage in my Hero but Unbridled Blade can do 1500 and even higher if the attack is boosted. Same with Falcon Slash, I have 2 Uber Falcon Blades on my Erik and he does way more damage and hits with the regular attack option than this special attack.

    Any reason for this?

    so I'm playing dq11. and I'm at the stage of the game where the sword of light has just been reforged, and it's time to face mordegon. but I'm not sure whether I should keep using greatswords like I have been or switch to the sword of light and take my skill points out of greatswords and put them into regular swords. is that what I should do?

    A strange phenomenon in Dq9

    I just finished the sage quest in dq9 for the first time(played through a lot but never did the quest). Im playing a solo run this time and as i was training with metal medleys i noticed something odd.... I got all the way to level 28 without a single one running away. One time it even stayed for three turns. Do metal slimes not run away from sages?

    Am I a grumpy old man if I think NES DQ1 is the best in the series?

    2 is okay, but by the time you get to 3 the games are just getting too complicated. DQ1 is the perfect blend between complexity and simplicity. DQ1 is the only Dragon Quest anyone ever needs, imo.

    Is my party suitable for Zoma?

    Approaching the end of the game, and I have a Hero, Warrior and Thief at level 40, and a Sage (was Mage) at around level 37.

    Finding it a bit tough to heal enough and do damage. I have my Hero use the Sage Stone and the Sage doing buffs (I find if I use Insulate, Zoma wastes one of his two turns wiping it).

    It's the cold breath attack that tends to get me. What armour or spells can I use to go mitigate that?

    My Warrior and Thief do the damage, my Hero is using the Sage Stone and the plan was for my Sage to constantly apply buffs/debuffs. He can also do supplementary healing, but as Zoma is wiping the buffs/debuffs every turn, he's just reapplying that.

    I'm starting to worry that I should have changed the warrior and thief's classes earlier, but can I definitely beat Zoma eventually if I grind a couple more levels? I read on one site that 1 million XP would tend to see you through, and I'm currently sitting with my parent around 650,000, so perhaps I'm just a bit under-levelled?

    its been 5 years or so, but i only remember hearing/reading about the 7 Sages. but in the other games, even if your not a descendent of Erdrik, or his companions, people can still bring up his name.

    where is Erdrik in 8?

    would the Dragovian Lord know Erdrik?
