Posted: 06 Aug 2021 01:48 AM PDT Hi folks! Somewhat newer JRPG fan here, my favorites so far have been the Lunar Series on Playstation/mobile and a few older SNES titles. I'd like to get into the series, maybe starting with a somewhat older title- I don't mind if 2D or 3D, but I'd rather not spend a ton of money either. I've got a Switch, a 3DS, and a phone- any suggestions? [link] [comments]
Need help in Dragon Quest III on iOS! Stuck with the Mod Rod on iOS Posted: 06 Aug 2021 08:51 AM PDT Possible extremely light spoilers for DQ3. But I have 4/6 rainbow orbs (missing yellow from the new town, and the silver one I assume I get last). And I just got the Mod Rod from saving the village from the evil king. I've looked at several walkthroughs now and they say to take the Mod Rod to the Greenland Island covered in ice in the top right corner of the map, and go to the empty green tile in the ice. It loads me into a new grassy plain area, but no house shows up like they say, so I can't trade the Rod to the guy there. Am I missing something obvious to make his house appear? Thanks for all your help!! [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Aug 2021 09:40 AM PDT Like for example: 1. Are any of the games open world? Or do they at least have a lot of free exploration? 2. After the main storyline can you keep playing the game or does it end? 3. Does it have a lot of replay value or does it get boring after the first playthrough? 4. Is the gameplay calm enough to take as much time as you want to think or is it rushed with fast actions? (I need a game I can be playing while multitasking, like when I'm strolling or at work) 5. And does the Android version have midgame saving or do you lose your progress after leaving the app? Sorry if that's a lot. I'd be really grateful for any replies! [link] [comments]

Australian looking to buy DQ6 on the DS Posted: 05 Aug 2021 05:48 PM PDT Does anyone know, as an Australian, where I can get a copy of DQ6 on the DS for cheap? I'd rly rather not emulate it on my computer, and I would hate playing it on my phone with touch screen controls ;-; [link] [comments]
Quick question about Slime Island Posted: 05 Aug 2021 05:20 PM PDT When is the earliest you can go there? Im currently level 37 been grinding right after you get Jade since the enemies in that area give 500+ a battle and been throwing in the Pep ability that summons metal slimes here and there but i always hear about Slime Island online so now i wanna venture there lol [link] [comments]
Alternatives to Zing and Kazing in Dragon Quest IX Posted: 05 Aug 2021 10:34 AM PDT Are there any alternatives to the Zing and Kazing spells in Dragon Quest IX for reviving fallen allies? Without them, the game is railroading the player into certain party vocation combinations due to non-transferable spell lists. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Aug 2021 07:11 PM PDT I don't care what anyone says, Sylvando and Dave are the power couple we always needed, I didn't marry Sylv because I don't want Dave to be heartbroken that I stole his man. How can you not fall in love with them?? Theyre so adorableeee [link] [comments]
Skipping treasures - Its a big issue? (Dragon Quest XI Definitive) Posted: 05 Aug 2021 02:24 PM PDT Im having a blast with this game (im probably still in Act 1) and taking my time, doing most of the side quests, search for stuff on the maps, etc. But whenever i finish exploring a city for example, the nose for treasure feature tells me there is still XY amount (usually 7-12) treasures left in the area. I search everything again, cant find anything. And im just moving forward because im bored with running around. I have no idea what kind of treasures im missing. I will be in trouble later on the game because of this? [link] [comments]

Is there a way to avoid grind for act 3 final boss? Posted: 05 Aug 2021 03:06 PM PDT Literally what the title said, I tried to take on the final boss at level 50 but got my ass kicked Can I avoid grind with some strat to cheese the boss? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Aug 2021 02:57 PM PDT Does it pick up any time soon? About 4-6hr in, and while there have been a couple significant story beats, the gameplay is totally boring. It's just traverse-speak-traverse-speak-traverse-speak with some random encounters/fights in between. I was hoping the main mechanic of the game - the battles - would be used more, that they'd be deeper, more varied, more difficult, require more thought, require better equipment. So far I've only fought super-easy random monsters and one duo of mini bosses. Compare that to Pokemon for example, where the main mechanic of the game - Pokemon battles - was handed straight to you from the beginning. Yes, there were random encounters, but from the early game there was capturing & training, trainer battles, rival battles, gym battles, etc etc. They were challenging, varied and required some effort to win. Please tell me it gets better because the side quests haven't been very interesting so far, and I certainly don't want to invest tens of hours, only hanging around for a main story, if the game isn't fun to play.
