Posted: 05 Aug 2021 04:01 AM PDT Hey, I am a Brazilian in Japan who can go to the Dragon Quest Island despite Corona and having no money, just because I live near and am vaccinated, for what it's worth. Since I came just recently to Japan, I know this is not an option for everyone. You either have no money, time, both, or Corona happens. So I was thinking in making a video to record and share with everyone how the experience is there. Anyone who went there have any tips to make the experience better? I had an idea of leaving a "minimap" on screen for the video with my current location, so who's watching feels more like inside a game, and can feel more the park. I've encountered between 15-20 of them this run and every time they've fled before anyone/anything else can act. I have the meteorite bracelet equipped on Jessica so she can cast accelerate on the party but they still outspeed her (party is around lvl 31). Anything I can do to increase my chances of killing them? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 05 Aug 2021 06:05 AM PDT I was playing on PC Game pass, and made it about 20 hours before deciding I'd rather have it handheld so I'm starting over on the Switch. So far I haven't had much if any trouble with anything, barely grinding and just flying through the game. But I worry with games like this that the builds or gear I choose may paint myself into a corner later in the game if there's a difficulty spike. Is there anything I need to be careful of? | Posted: 05 Aug 2021 08:51 AM PDT Hey all, so I'm stuck on the battle with Orochi outside Jinpang. My party consists of Hero, Martial Artist, Priest, and Mage. Initially everyone was level 18, and of course I got my ass wallopped. I spent over 2 hours just grinding and exploring the rest of the world map and am now up to level 23 all around and bought all the best equipment for everyone that I currently have access to, I've tried again and nothing changed, I still get wallopped in only a few turns. Then I looked it up on DQ wiki and this thing has *1800 HP*, and I'm supposed to fight it twice. How the HELL am I supposed to beat this thing at this point in the game, short of grinding for literally an entire day? If that's the case I think I'm just gonna give up. [link] [comments] | ||

I played VIII on the ps2 as a child and really enjoyed it. I'm a bit OCD and I NEED TO PLAY OPTIMALLY (My ocd doesn't allow otherwise if its not optimal I will legit drop the game cause of anxiety induced stuff and I don't want to do that). Where I am now is at Gallipoli post race. I have finally encountered my first metal slimes and am feeling kind of bummed out cause I know they give some mad exp, but I went greatswords cause helichopter and I had no area clear, and I cant seem to kill them. I am still liking helichopter and greatswords in general, but I really want that metal slash and it annoys me to no end that there is no equivalent in the greatsword tree thus I checked online. What I found while looking online for greatsword skills was build suggestions and their seems to be a split with half the people saying greatswords are amazing cause of all the passive buffs to damage, while others saying that greatswords are better early on, but fall off at the mid game cause your teammates have much better AOE. Some pros for sword that I have read include more skills/utility, duel wielding at late game has more dps, better survivability at early, and the ultimate weapon for MC which I hear you can get 2 of. I should mention that I am playing the definitive edition of the game and this is my first playthough. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. I prefer martial artists since they spam crits and I think they look cooler. Imo Alena is the most broken party member in dq once you get the falcon knife earrings and she crits everything. I didnt level the megamonsters but I'm willing to get breed them for a good team for the rest of the game. I was thinking about ending up with Goldslime for a healer that doesnt die, a dragon to dps, and either a single target dps, or a buff/support. Maybe someone with big trip and radiant. KingLeo? Idk.
