Posted: 04 Oct 2021 10:31 PM PDT DQ11 is my first Dragon Quest game and I'm about 75% done with the base game and while fun, the game has been pretty easy for me. I feel like the game does waaay too much hand holding and gives you more then enough resources to make most boss battles trivial. So many times I would be fighting a boss and I'd be in a situation where I thought to myself "If the fight keeps up like this I'm gonna lose." But almost everytime after that I beat the boss in one or 2 hits. The only time I lost a boss battle was during the Tournament Arc, and even then that was because I just flatout wasn't paying attention to the game. Upon repeating the fight I beat the team with no issue. Even the Tentacular that everyone says is a turning point for the game I beat pretty easily, even without the cannon. Dora was another one I heard talked about. And while her boss fight and Arc is probably my favorite so far(It's honestly not even close) I ultimately made short work of her. I'm not really trying to talk myself up with this, just giving an honest take on my experience. So I was hoping to find some challenge on the post game once I wrap everything up. Thing is, I've heard there are optional bosses after the game that are decently tough, but I can't find a comprehensive list of all the bosses anywhere. Why is that? Am I just not looking in the right places? I know there's alot of endgame quests but I only want info on the ones where you fight bosses. [link] [comments] | ||
| What sort of changes would you like to see in the remake of III? Posted: 04 Oct 2021 11:36 AM PDT Personally I'd like to see them add some quality of life and modernizations from the newer games. Here's my ideas *Magical might and magical mending. This was a much needed addition to the series with spell scaling as it gives spells and casters more viability *Abilities and skill trees. The physical jobs are basically relegated to only attacking during combat which is rather boring in my opinion. Adding in the skill trees of VIII and IX can alleviate this *New vocations. As far as base ones go, my only addition would be dancer/minstrel to round out base vocations to 8. I also think there should be more advanced classes like the sage and with an even number of base classes there can be 4 advanced jobs that are like combinations of two starter jobs. Sage is obviously mage and priest, I was thinking of gladiator for warrior and martial artist, ranger for thief and merchant, and then luminary for gadabout and minstrel. [link] [comments] | ||

(story spoilers) Posted: 04 Oct 2021 01:02 PM PDT i loved act 1. loved act 2 even more. act 3... not so much. going back in time disrupted the story and set back the development of serena and hendrik so much, who are two of my favourites. going back in time made me feel disconnected from my party members, was genuinely saying to myself "these aren't my friends :( my friends are back in the other timeline." act 3 also feels very grindy with this whole trials business and not as structured as the rest of the game. i love veronica but the bittersweet feeling of act 2's ending feels more right to me than a 'go back in time and make it all perfect ending.' they could've at least given us tallronica if they were gonna revive her. so here's my question: should i complete it anyway? is there content in the ending that you feel is worth working through the grinding? any good story stuff happen? i do love the game so there's a good chance i will go back to it but i'm still a little bitter about the plot direction [link] [comments] | ||

| DQXI Planting seeds for the future question (spoilers) Posted: 04 Oct 2021 12:03 PM PDT I'm in act 3 and trying to do as many of the quests that I missed as possible. Planting seeds for the future tells me I need to face enough sprite bulbs in the first forest to make a weight bulb appear. However, I have went through the entire forest and have not seen a single sprite bulb. Is this monster not in the game after the first or second act? I suspect that this may not be possible to complete anymore, despite me picking up the quest in act 3. If anyone knows where I can find these, please let me know. Edit: I found them.
