Dragon Quest 7 at the end.

Well I finally crossed paths with DQ7 after playing DQ 1-6. I originally was gonna save it for last due to being intimidated by how long it is. Funny thing is that it really is as long as they say but at the same time it went quick. This game will have you wondering where all the time went. It is probably the most go with the motions DQ game I have played and is in my opinion the easiest combat wise. I can see knowing what to do next being difficult but other than that I never found myself stuck at a boss which is uncommon for DQ. I decided to get it out of the way before enjoying DQ 8 and DQ9 so I didn't have this game in the back of my mind while enjoying the goods lol. I am about to conquer the last dungeon and fight the final boss. All in all I think it is a good game. Not the best DQ game but the story is very unique. I liked the little island mechanic even if some of them dragged or included lots of padding. My favorite was looting the towns in the present. Now when it comes to DQ6 vs DQ7 I have to say story wise 7 wins but gameplay 6 wins. I did prefer the class system of 7 though.

Dragon Quest 7 may have inspired Kingdom Hearts.

I have a theory that Kingdom Hearts may have borrowed from DQ7. Now before I start I wanna say I love both games and Kingdom Hearts helped pave the way for me enjoying RPGs. As a kid Kingdom Hearts pushed me to find out more about Final Fantasy which then led me to the RPG rabbit hole. So to start off DQ7 has a younger and older male who are friends along with female closer in age to the main character. They are stuck on an island wondering if there are other islands/worlds out there. Auster=Sora, Kiefer=Riku, Maribel=Kairi. The story is all about connecting the worlds just like Kingdom Hearts. May be wrong but seemed like an interesting connection.

    [PS5] should I play vanilla DQ 11 or 11 S?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2021 12:53 PM PST

I've been reading about DQ11 S having a graphical downgrade on PS, but I'm wondering if the improvements and additions to the definitive version outweigh this? Also, do both versions of DQ11 run at a solid 60 fps? Thanks!

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I took the left stick movement to go to the next text in DQ11 for granted

Now whenever I play any game I automatically flick the left stick to go to the next text 😅 it feels unnatural to go back to pressing X/A haha

Does super strong monsters get easier?

I'm debating whether or not I should disable it. I'm at the casino city and part of me is wondering if the trouble is really worth it.

I wouldn't say it's hard. I've only wiped once, but it's extremely tedious. Every fight feels like I could die if I mess up. Part of me feels like it's taking the enjoyment out of the game.
