    Major DQXIS (SPOILERS!)

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 05:29 AM PDT

I played the game on PS4 originally and never got around to the post game content at all. I'm at the temple of Time and my companions are blocking me. Is there anything I should do before I continue?

    Is anything missable like...

Just wondering wherabouts I am in the "how long left" stakes for DQ11

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 06:13 AM PDT

    Hi all,

I would guess I am halfway through Act Two: Just about to get Jade, again, have Sylv, Rab and have "released" Irwin from his prison

Just wondering as I have a rare free day coming up and if I am not all that far off I will set aside that day for the game. But if it's still like 30 hours off I will just play for a while.

    Thanks!

Dragon Quest 3 Switch. A couple of questions.

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 03:54 AM PDT

First. Is there level scaling of enemies in this game or does it behoove me to grind in earlier areas before proceeding to later areas?

Second. Are stat gains per level randomized? Should I be trying to save scum my level gains? Is this like Final Fantasy 1?

EDIT: Question 3 do your companions have any characterization in this game or are they just there to help you fight?

Question 4 don't spoil it for me but is that personality test I took at the beginning of the game going to factor into the game at any later point? EDIT: Nevermind I just read up on how personalities affect stat growth. Interesting mechanic. So my hero has different strengths and weaknesses from your hero because we're different people in real life (assuming we answered honestly and weren't trying to game the system for the best personality).

Question about the Ruby Road of Ruin tockle quest

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 07:25 AM PDT

The guy who gives you the quest says there is an abundance of king metal slimes in the cave, I've been fighting in there for like an hour but still haven't seen any. Do they actually spawn in there? And if they do what level of the dungeon is most common for them?

    Thanks in advance

11s Secret Trial With Harder Monsters Enabled

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 10:36 AM PDT

Has anybody managed to beat the final (secret) Trial of the Wheel of Harma in under 50 turns with harder monsters enabled? I've been searching around online and have found no topics about it, and a single video where the player doesn't seem to have harder monsters enabled from what I can tell.

The first round is easy enough, but round 2 is where I'm not seeing many options. You only get a single fighter for this one and there are constant reinforcements summoned nearly every turn that cannot be 1 shotted unbuffed. This seems to last anywhere from 4-5 turns until the final reinforcement shows up.

I've been trying to use Hendrik here as he's the most self sufficient for this sort of fight. He's at level 99, is using a Brilliant Blade +3, Drustan's helm/armor +3, and two mighty armlets +3 to try and boost attack as much as possible. Even with this and unbridled blade, and pepped up, they won't die in one turn without having double up active. The problem there is the enemy tends to buff their attack, and when they're sitting with +2 attack and you're at -1 defense, you won't be able to outlast them if you're trying to get under a turn limit. I tend to fall when they activate their pep power if our buffs/debuffs are sitting this way.

For the first time in a while I'm just at a loss on how you're supposed to go about beating this one. Wondering if anybody else on harder monsters mode has had luck with this one? I really don't want to farm seeds, but I'm not seeing any other option at the moment. There's only so much you can do when you're limited to one character against multiple enemies with such high health pools.

Sorry if this has been asked before but

I'm out in Japan at the moment and want to get dragon quest XI on the switch. What's all the different versions out here? They have a gorgeous version and I don't know what that means.

Another one of these but just curious, how old do you think everyone in the party of DQ 11 is?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 09:53 AM PDT

I get the feeling the first 4 are all about the hero's age give or take a year but the others I'm not quite sure.

    Just Finished DQXIS

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 10:14 PM PDT

It was pleasure to have played this game, I played it and finished in 2D. It is my all time favorite JRPG, it was really fun. It never felt like a grind or a chore to play and sometimes you have to know what you're doing or you will wipe. It didn't drag on and sure it had its typical story but the characters and each NPC have something unique to say about the world around them. I was really impressed by the way everything was connected. There were moments where I shed a tear or laughed and smiled throughout my 55 hours adventure of the game. It's one of those games that I can go back to time and time again. Highly recommended!

    4.5/5 Rating!

Directions for Getting Through the Neverglade (DQXI S)

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 08:39 AM PDT

Struggling to get through the Neverglade or not sure if you got everything? Well, you're in luck, I recently wrote down the directions to the boss, all three treasure locations, and directions for a later quest; directions spoilered just in case someone wants to work it out for themselves

Follow my direction on every screen, even if there are only 2 ways to go from it

Boss Fight: East, North, North, after a cutscene the game should guide you to the boss from here but if it doesn't go: West, North, Boss fight

NOTE: You might not be able to get to the boss without Veronica around, she's essential for the cutscene

Chest 1: East, North, Treasure Chest

Chest 2: East, North, North, South, Treasure Chest

Cave with Potential Treasure: North, Enter the cave and smash the pots and check the dressers

A Cannockian Conundrum Directions: North, East, Prince

Special Thanks to this site for having a map I used to figure the directions out: https://game8.jp/dq11/165820

Dragon Quest VI, mobile or DS?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 01:49 AM PDT

Hey all, I've recently gotten into DQ, and I'm loving it so far. For a bit of background, I started with IV on mobile, and really liked the control scheme after I got used to it - so touch controls don't bother me.

The reason I ask about VI specifically, is because I hear it's a very long game with a puzzling overworld that's easy to get lost in. That sort of thing wouldn't bother me if I was playing on a handheld or console, but I imagine it'd be frustrating to navigate on mobile.

I know it's down to personal preference in the end, but I'd appreciate you guys' opinions on which version is better to play.
