Posted: 24 Nov 2019 07:55 AM PST I dunno... the real end game boss has to be getting enough casino token to unlock that final piece of attire for Jade. [link] [comments]
[DQ5] Love the recruiting monsters part of this game. Posted: 24 Nov 2019 10:13 AM PST I've been playing through DQ5 again and I really like the make-your-own team portion of the game. I've thought about trying to get one of every monster but after getting a liquid metal slime I decided against it. It took me about 10 hours, 130ish musks I finally got this guy. Don't think I'll bother trying to get a killing machine... On another note, I like how monsters are dangerous in this game. In almost every other DQ game I played either the primary antagonist or humans were the most dangerous parties in the game, it felt a lot more impactful as you go through your story. Dragon Quest 11 - how many hours are left? (spoilers) Posted: 24 Nov 2019 09:19 AM PST I'm in act 3 preparing for the final battle, and I've finally hit a point where it's not fun. I'd like to see this through the end, but I expect I have hours of grinding ahead of me to even be close to having a chance to beat the game. My characters are between level 66-69 and I've been able to beat three of the Trial Isle bosses, but the most recent one with Abject Terror totally destroyed. me. How many hours do I need to grind in order to level up enough to beat the game? [link] [comments]
I'm a few hours into Dragon Quest 1--my first ever experience with this series--I love it. Posted: 23 Nov 2019 06:52 PM PST Being a Final Fantasy fan I had always heard great things about this franchise, but had never dipped my toe in the water. I'm in the process of making yet another run through the Final Fantasy games, and after finishing FF3 (the last of the NES-era games) I decided to do a Dragon Quest run in parallel. I downloaded DQ1 (is that the shorthand you guys use?) for my iPad. I literally had ZERO familiarity with this series before I started, so I wanted to give you my initial impressions: It's great! Specifically, what has made it great for me so far: you have to search for the adventure--it is not given to you up front. But your objective is revealed in bite-sized pieces which pulls you forward. Find the princess, you're told--but you're not given a direction to go, so you start exploring close to home; But the problem is, you're weak, so you get beat up and retreat to the the kingdom to heal with each level-up; until finally you're strong enough to travel to the bard's hometown, where you learn... not enough to resolve the first adventure, so you move on; but you're still too weak to make it across the scary bridges yet, so you rest again; now you're ready to venture forth and you find another small town where you learn the princess is to the south; but you find shes locked behind doors that you need a key for, and the dungeon youve been led to is also a passage to another continent where... im guessing the keymaker lives? This is just such a mindblowingly huge first adventure for an NES game--contrast it with FF1 where you are told to rescue Princess Sarah from Garland, who is in the Chaos Temple north of Cornelia. There is no mystery, no exploring, just a straight forward adventure. I am quite surprised how different these two franchises are! Thanks for reading. [link] [comments]

DQXI post game help? Spoilers, light. Posted: 24 Nov 2019 05:46 AM PST Okayyy. So I had Erik on knives for the early game but switched to swords once he got double wielding and I couldn't find any knives that weren't pathetic. Now I have Divide and the victimizer abilities. What are the best knives for status ailments and damage in the late game? Also...thunder spells. Does only MC learn these? I only have Zap for whatever reason, I need to finish off Jormunn for Cobblestone but everyone is useless but MC (since the final blow needs to be a lightning spell correct?). Zap does...pitiful damage. But unsure how to fill out the thunder spells. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Nov 2019 01:38 AM PST You guys probably get this a lot but I can't help it. This game and franchise as a whole is so intriguing to me. I keep hearing how good it is but never managed to get into it it. I tried it years ago with VIII on the PS2 but didn't liked it that much mostly because I thought it was kinda childish and because the other option was FFXII and of course because I was a teenager and preferred violence and edginess. I tend to like rpgs like SMT and I'm honestly a fan of grinding. How hard can I make this game? Is it really childish? Also on the subject of difficulty I heard it's so easy that you have no reason to buy or look for better gear, is this the case? I'm a bit reluctant because I gave Pokemon two chances on the 3DS era with Omega Ruby and Sun and I absolutely hated it (even though I was a huge fan as a kid) mostly because the story was mind numbingly childish and the gameplay too easy. Like I felt the game demanded nothing from me. I know they're games for kids but you know... When a lot of your friends around your age say it's so good I ended up jumping in with some expectations. Thanks for your time guys! [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Nov 2019 09:30 PM PST I know that it has to do with when you talk to the old guy in Arboria it saves your inventory, but does it save your entire inventory I.E. all equipped items and any seeds and stuff? And I've seen occasionally mentioned that you need to keep that inventory until the very end of act 1, is that true or can I change my equipped items and stuff and still dupe the stuff I had on earlier after talking to the old guy? (the last one is for equipment in the side stories between acts, don't want to have bad stuff equipped during them and then being stuck because of it) [link] [comments]
Getting a bit disappointed by XI Posted: 24 Nov 2019 12:22 AM PST (Quick warning : I play in French and I think the names of city and character aren't the same) Tldr : XI feel too linear compared to VIII Hello people! Recently, after finishing VIII again, I decided to get XI, and at first it was incredible, the game was looking great, the combat where great too. The problem started after escaping with Eric (Blue Hair Dude), I was afraid of the exploration part : Everything was a straight line! I still had hope that it will change after getting the boat, but it just got worse : you can't get out the boat everywhere you want and the zone are still small RN I'm at the point where Theo (Old man tell us he's our grandfather) and I'm a bit frustrated that I Cant explore everywhere, looking for hidden chest, going in a zone with monster way too powerful for me, I just miss the exploration! I'll keep playing because I love DQ in general, and I want to know the story, but those small zone without any exploration part bother me [link] [comments]
Self Replenishing Infinite XP Farming With Only One Pep Pip Posted: 23 Nov 2019 07:51 PM PST I've come up with a farming method that as the title says is infinite, self replenishing and requires just one pep pip.

(DQXIS act 3) What happens if I say no to the wishes? Posted: 23 Nov 2019 07:11 PM PST I just beat the first labyrinth of Drustan's trials and want to do the marriage wish, but I haven't finished the cobblestone quest. If I say I don't want any wishes, can I come get the wish later? If not, what happens? [link] [comments]

Malicious Jormuan is making me realize why the post game is optional (DQ11) Posted: 23 Nov 2019 11:57 PM PST For the entire mid and early game i had zero issues with the bosses. Downed mordegon first time with some people dying. Luckily for every boss , once i had enough healers, it became a game of damage control. blunt -> kabuff -> dazzle , and eric one shots the boss. Eric doing 5k-7k damage in one turn was enough to end every fight. Now im on jormuan. People are saying you need to use anti-status rings. I had hendrick taking ZERO damage for eight turns until Jormun decided to make him sleep and then he died in two turns. Anyone see the problem with this? Why I'am being forced into crafting a mandatory anti-status ring because the bosses damage sky-rocketed and my ability to counteract that damage (due to EVERYONE BEING ASLEEP) is ZERO It seems the post game. (which is the actual end of the story) was half baked and the devs noticed. So they ended the game right then and there, not wanting a bad review backlash. [link] [comments] |
