Okay, This Game Is Really Great [DQ11 spoilers] Posted: 16 Dec 2019 06:52 AM PST I remember receiving a PS4, along with a Japanese copy of DQ11 for it two years ago. I was like, "what, why this game? This game is for kids... Why did I get this as my present?" I played it for an hour and gave up because it's in Japanese (my Japanese skills were below average still during that time) and I hated the artstyle. Two years later, I was finally convinced to play the game after Dunkey reviewed it. I bought DQ11S as my birthday present and started playing it last month. And now, after finishing the second act of the game just an hour ago, I want to play it again for the second time. This time, in Japanese audio (when I saw the credits, I saw just how huge the Japanese cast was. Krystalinda as Miyuki Sawashiro!? Vince as Tomokazu Sugiyama!?!? Oh boy, count me in!), finishing all quests and having searched through every single pieces of treasure around the globe. Also casino. I'm gonna get that jackpot in the VIP casino at Octagonia. Only then will I be able to play Act 3. I need to be fully satisfied before I play Act 3. I'm just amazed by how amazing the cast was. I thought I was gonna hate them because of how superficial they felt at first but I came to love them as I spend my time more in the game. I was genuinely surprised. It was then that I realized that Dragon Quest isn't some childish game. Dragon Quest is all about forgetting your problems and just hang out with your friends. It's all about relaxing, chilling and just having fun. But Shelly's side chapter happened. That made me cry like a baby. I was like, "WHAT IS THIS GAME? WHY IS IT MAKING ME SO SAD NOW???" That's why, I was so sad when Act 2 happened. It was so hard to play the game because everyone wasn't around. When I finally gathered everyone, though, someone was missing. And holy shit, I did not expect that Veronica's death would be the one thing that would hit me the most in this game. I didn't like that little bitch at first but she became one of my favorite characters in the whole game. When she cared for me during that Sniflheim incident, her actions lingered my mind for the rest of the day. Now I'm sad again because I'm doubtful if she's ever coming back... (please don't spoil me about that). Also, since DQ11S is on a portable console, the game really helped me through stressful times during work. My work has three 20-minute breaks per day (plus one hour lunch break). I make sure I play the game during break times. During lunch time, I make sure I eat my lunch quickly so that I could have more time to play the game. I always look forward playing the game. Anyways, I'm really thankful for this game. I'm glad I met DQ11 and I'm excited to play it again for the second time. [link] [comments] |
Dragon Warrior Monsters for the Switch. Posted: 16 Dec 2019 06:48 AM PST I found my old gameboy color recently and replayed Dragon Quest Monsters, and it was amazing. The memories came flooding back. The grinding, training, breeding. I loved this game as a kid and still do. It rivals even the Pokémon series in my eyes. It got me thinking about how cool a port to the switch would be. Now, with all the recognition Dragon Quest is getting, I think it'd be the perfect time to try and revive the Monsters series. Some time and updated graphics and I feel like it could be a hit. Who knows, maybe if it generates enough attention we might get a sequel one day. What are your guys' thoughts on this? Have you ever played DWM? Would you buy a switch port of the game? DQXI Switch | IS there something i could miss in the demo? Posted: 16 Dec 2019 07:50 AM PST Hello! Im about to get DQXI next week, and as a completionist i dont want to miss anything. As my title ask, is there something i can mess up and is unrecoverable? It can be a minor detail. For example, in DQIX it's possible to miss the second background text of the DLC bosses if i dont use "Eye for Trouble". [link] [comments] |

How do y'all get 70+ hours before Act 3 even happens??? Posted: 16 Dec 2019 02:53 AM PST I was just wondering if I rushed through way too fast. I beat Act 2 after only 42 hours of gameplay. When I killed the final main story boss my party was in the low-40's (Hero was Lv.41, my highest level character was Lv.45). I will admit I do kinda button mash past cutscene dialogue, but I did pretty much every side quest I could find (I found all of the magic key doors, sailed to every single island, did a handful of the random NPC quests). In Act 3 though it seems like there's plenty to do Did y'all just level grind a lot more? The only thing I can think of is that I not once ever needed to grind, and grinding can take a bit of time (seeing as how I notice a lot of you have Lv.60+ teams by the end of Act 2 when I barely pushed past Lv.40). Are y'all just playing Draconian mode or something? Am I missing some shit because I feel like I finished the main story way too quickly... Still a really good game, but... I mean if anything I'll take my sweet time now but shit man... [link] [comments] |
DQ11 - alternative ways to play? Posted: 16 Dec 2019 02:29 AM PST Just finished the game on normal difficulty and going to start another save file but wondering if people have any ideas on other ways to play the game such as only controling the main character, greatswords for MC, Knives for Erik, etc to make it harder, no opening chests yadda yadda. should I buy DQ3 for the switch? Posted: 15 Dec 2019 01:21 PM PST Hello all. recently I got 20 bucks on the switch, and I was curious if I should buy the switch version of DQ3. I've heard a bunch of opinions so far but I'm still on the fence cause I heard it was a remake of the mobile version and that wasn't good. see, way back when, I played DQ3 for the GBC, but I never really beat it cause I got confused at the part where your forced to be king. as for other DQ games I've played, I played DW monster(never beat it...I think) DQ monster joker(beat it) DQ monster joker 2(never beat that) DQ 5 ds(beat it) DQ 7 ds(never finished it) DQ 8 ps2 and 3ds (never finished either) DQ 9 (never finished) any thoughts would be handy [link] [comments] |
Dragon Quest 1-3 Nintendo soup shop Posted: 15 Dec 2019 09:51 PM PST Hi all Has anyone used this site to get the physical copy of Dragon Quest 1 - 3? I ordered a copy at the end of November and they've taken the money out my account but I've not heard anything other than they're processing my order. I just wanted to hear if anyone else has used their shop and what they're experience was. Thanks [link] [comments] |

Stuck at Baalzack. Not sure where to go next. [DQ4] Posted: 15 Dec 2019 03:53 PM PST I'm close to Level 20 but no luck not getting double Crackled. Been doing the Hoffman town side-quest and exploring the map while I grind. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Dec 2019 02:26 PM PST I played DQ11 on the PS4 with the super strong enemies and I just bought the switch version. I really enjoy the difficulty with super strong enemies. However, I have an overall question about the standard difficulty of this game and the series as a whole. Super strong enemies is fun (IMO) because you have to utilize all your skills in the game. I remember wiping to Dora several times. It makes me wonder if I would have enjoyed this game at the standard (Japanese) level of difficulty. Is DQ11 a very easy game in terms of the DQ series? Or is Dragon Quest an easy series as whole? Did the normal difficulty ever become challenging? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
