DQ XI for PC or Switch?

    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 05:03 AM PST

So I get a switch for Christmas and I don't really have any games, im Thinking of getting it for PC because I have to let my sis play with the switch when she wants but also the handheld mode of the switch is really appealing to buy it for the NS instead of PC

Is there any difference between PC and NS in the gameplay/content?

[Spoiler] Dragon Quest 11 - Post game question. (WARNING, SPOILER!)

    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 05:42 AM PST

    Hey ya all,

First I have to say, english isn't my native language, so I apologize if something isn't correct.

I've beaten Mordegon and saw the end credits, but the game wasn't over at all, now I have the chance to get back to the past. But before I will do that, I have a question that is bothering me pretty hard.

That will maybe sounds confusing, but when I go back to the past, will I play in a different "world"? My concern is, I go back and all my companies will left behind in the tower of time, there will be the original world where everything started, but without the Hero.

What I think, there will be two different worlds, one where I started the game and the Hero left, and the other where I'm currently because I destroyed the time sphere.

I know that sounds so confusing, but I didn't know how to describe it better, sorry...

I freaking hate Dragon Quest XI

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 08:30 PM PST

...for setting the bar so high, I couldn't enjoy any other JRPGs anymore. I recently picked up a Switch back in September after not having touched a console for over a decade or so, and the very first game I bought was DQXI.

I was supposed to hold back on the Switch until November for the Pokemon games, but I was randomly browsing on September 27 and saw that this game launched, which then immediately piqued my interest. This was the first time I heard of this franchise, but I went ahead and bought a Switch and the game after seeing the beautiful trailers and stellar reviews.

Boy oh boy, it felt so good to finally be so drawn into a game that I felt like a child again. The music, the combat, the characters.. everything was just so beautiful. I was so delighted to finally enjoy gaming again after not playing games for more than a decade, save for DOTA2 which I only played with my friends.

Now that I'm done with the game, every other JRPG feels so bland in comparison to DQXI. I even bought a PS4 as well since it was on sale, but I couldn't find anything that feels as magical as this game. For those who are on the fence about Dragon Quest XI, I highly recommend you play this game if classic turn-based RPGs are your thing.

If you have any recommendations on the Switch or the PS4 to scratch my JRPG itch, please feel free to suggest! I hope everyone gets to enjoy DQXI as much as I did. I picked up Octopath Traveler yesterday to play in the holidays, I hope I enjoy it too.

I just picked up this game again since i wanted it to 100% it, and hot damn...the online population is non-existant nowdays what happened? i remember the last time i played in March 2019 there were still plenty of people online but i can't seem to find people to play with nowdays...the game is just 3 years old, i would understand if this was a 7-8 year old game...

Question about zoom in DQ11. Please let me know!

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 06:50 PM PST

I'm in the second stage of the game, after the events of the world tree. My zoom list reset, and I see that they are adding up after I visit each place again. I wanted to get the Dundrasil armor, but I cant, because I need to get the recipe. When will I get the chance to either zoom there, or somehow get to the ruins?

Is there any source that lists the Attack/Defense/Agility of DQ11 monsters? If not, do we have any information about the specifics of DQ11's damage formula, so I can potentially calculate them myself?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 10:41 AM PST

I've tried to find such a source to parallel those available for all the previous mainline DQ games without avail. I know the EXP and Gold are listed within the game itself, and the HP and MP can be found here. However, I'm at a loss for information that could help me determine the exact Attack, Defense, and Agility (as well as evasion, elemental weaknesses/resistances, and any other stats, if possible/applicable) of DQ11 monsters. Note that I don't read (or speak) Japanese, so I might just be missing one or more Japanese-language sources with this information.
