Should I buy DQXI or wait until I get a Switch for the S version?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:37 AM PST

    That's pretty much it.

I don't own a Switch yet and the game is on sale on steam. As I know nothing about the game I can't really judge all the changes on the list for the S version.

I was afraid the version could come to PC as a new realease, at the same time I was hopeful it could be DLC for the PC version. As I've read, none of this will happen.

Is there a way to 'fix' the soundtrack in the steam version of dragon quest 11?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:36 AM PST

The soundtrack is garbage. It has like 5 songs total. I've heard the switch version of the game fixes this issue but is there like a mod or something for PC that helps with the awful soundtrack?

    I just thought something: There's 6 versions of DQ11 in 4 platforms

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 06:26 PM PST

Seriously, I didn't think about it before but the developers at Square Enix created 6 unique versions for Dragon Quest 11:

    JP 3DS 2D

    JP 3DS 3D

    JP PS4

    overseas PS4 / global PC

    global Switch 2D

    global Switch 3D

All of those are different versions and different games even though they are the same. Which really shows how much money was spent by SE on this game with so much versions and how many platforms is was available. It's probably the DQ game that they mostly spent money, not even counting localization they had for PS4/PC/Switch and so on.

With the new numbers of DQ11, it's probably now the third best-selling title in the franchise overseas

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 05:35 PM PST

DQ11 with the Switch version has now over 1 million with the PS4/PC versions overseas while in JP it had about 4.5million. So with those new numbers, it's now for certain the third best-selling one, behind DQ8 and DQ9, which have those numbers

    Dragon Quest VIII (PS2):

    As July 2013

    WW: 4.90M

    JP: 3.80M

    Abroad: 1.10M

    Dragon Quest IX (DS):

    As July 2013

    WW: 5.51M

    JP: 4.40M

    Abroad: 1.11M (as Dec. 2013)

Best place to grind in Dragon Quest III ?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 01:32 AM PST

I'm getting my ass kicked by Baramos, so I was thinking about grinding but wasn't sure where to go. I thought about the Tower where multiples Metal Slime appears but I'm not sure it's the best idea since I don't get much xp while looking for them What should I do? My team is: - Hero lvl 26 - Fighter lvl 25 - Sage lvl 21 - Nick lvl 26 And I'm playing the Game Boy Color version!

    DQ11 Post-Game boss help

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 08:55 PM PST

So I pretty much did all side quests, everything except Drustan's 4th and 5th Boss fight. I can't seem to be able to defeat the 4th Boss easily. Any suggestions?

Also I tried my luck on Calasmos but he pretty much kills my entire party in 3 turns.

Btw my team is at level 63-65

DQXI - Switch - endless winning on SlimeQuest slots

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:09 PM PST

I don't want to put spoilers but I'm near the end of the game and I started playing some slots to bulk up my tokens and I seem to have hit an endless winning game. It's been like a week now, probably 45 mins a day, I am still playing the same game. I've won over 2 million tokens on this game and it's kind of crazy - but now I'm also getting bored. I mean boss battles even if I die, I just get resurrected and 1 shot him and get a bonus.

I would quit, but then it says if I do quit during Slime TIme that I will only get 170,000 tokens. I don't even know what I'll do with millions of tokens but at the same time I don't want all this time to be for just 170,000 tokens when I've got 2 million on the line!

Is this a weird bug? Is this normal? Will I actually lose all the tokens except 170k?

Beginning of dq11 with stronger monsters is pretty tough. Any advice to get going?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:06 PM PST

I'm starting my first playthrough of the game (on the demo right now if that matters) and friends have told me without the Draconian quest for difficulty that it's pretty easy, so I turned on harder monsters.

This is pretty silly, though. Once you leave the starting town if you get in to a random encounter you barely scrape by and have to use an herb after. Am I expected to grind 1 fight and then heal at the camp fire over and over until I'm comfortable? Am I supposed to avoid encounters on the way to heliodore or whatever the next town is? There's not much room for player skill at level 4 of a turn based rpg so I'm not sure what's expected of me. When does it get reasonable, and can you use healing items in battle? I only see my equipment when I check items in battle.

Appreciate any advice on how to get started here without turning off the difficulty and making the rest of the game too easy.
