    I have been playing the original Dragon Warrior Monsters on GBC recently, and through a lot of trial and error I finally bred a Metaly+3 (Metal Slime). At level 10, it has 48 hp and 160 mp. If I wanted to breed it again to get a Metaly +4, what would be the ideal level for each parent to ensure the child has better stats than them?

    Found DQ4 party chat text logs

    Managed to find the Party chat logs if anyone is interested. https://dragon-quest.org/wiki/Dragon_Quest_IV_Transcript

    Party chat starts at log b0500000 and goes all the way to log b0552000.

    There are some other interesting logs in here: Meena's tarot readings b0807000 All Book exerpts b0804000 Torneko's appraisals b0806000 Every party member's response to looking in the Ra mirror b0832000.

    Took me about 5 hours to comb through all the dialogue. Hope y'all enjoy. the standout find is the Ra mirror dialogue because 1) its a rare drop, 2) There is so many different responses for it 3) even temporary party members have tons of dialogue.

    I love DQXI which other game should I play in this series?

    DQXI is my first entry into the series, I have never played any other DQ games and I love all the characters. Is there any other game in the series characters with charm like DQXI? I light hearted games ( for example FF9 is my favorite, I hate FF7, sorry I just dont like dark gritty games)

    Unpopular opinion about DQ8

    So I just finished DQ8, minus some post-game content, and I honestly enjoyed myself. The story was fun, the characters where cute, and the game was a lot more dark than I had anticipated. Safe to say I'm a DQ fan, and have three more games being shipped to me as I write this.

    But I have something to say, and I'm just going to say it. The story flow and themes of DQ8 and DQ11 are almost identical, and depending on which one you played first, is the one you latch onto as the "better game"

    I mean, I guess there's a reason the DQ8 outfit was the DLC for Hero in DQ11 🤷🏼‍♂️

    So I've just beaten Erik's sister, most of my characters are level 42 and my current party setup is Sylvando (good healing spells, Oomphle, Cobra Strike) Erik (Oomphle-Divide-Victimiser is really good, and he also has the Sigil spell for continuous damage) Jade (Multithrust/Crushed Ice with Oomphle is also extremely powerful) and Hendrik (good heals, Scrap Mettle for debuffing, incredible Defence buffs and really good damage with Parallax).

    My question is, is there anyone who I could replace? Replacing Hero felt wrong, but he just didn't have anything he was particularly good at. Does anyone have any suggestions to improve my party?

    Dragon Quest Merch in Japan!

    DQ: Your Story (thoughts and discussion)

    I want to preface this by saying that my mom walked in while the movie was playing and said "is this Frozen 2?" LMAO but also that's a total testament to how pretty it is and its competitive quality!

    This. Movie. Slapped.

    As somebody who holds DQ: V near and dear to their heart, I'd say this movie hit all of the right points (the end retconning was a little odd); but the nostalgia, animation, and English voice acting were all top notch; big shout out to Yuri Lowenthal capturing all of Luca's emotions/screams/demeanor/curiosity all so well.

    And the references included with all of the game's sounds and lore were so freaking charming. Ex: Bianca accusing Luca of receiving a puff puff before redemption LOL

    The coolest thing about the movie overall is that I'm very sure it would appeal even to those who haven't played V/a Dragon Quest game. It just has a lot to offer to any sort of game/fantasy fan.

    Probs unlikely, but it would be cool to see more movies adapted down the line.

    A question about leveling up lower-leveled characters in DQ11S.

    I just got Jade and Rab in my party and they're FIVE levels below the Hero. I almost don't even want to use them because they're so woefully underpowered compared to everyone else. So... is there any way to get them more balanced? Is there some reliable way available to me at this point, to get the rest of the party killed off so that I can get EXP for only them?
