How do I get to use Cutting edge? Posted: 27 Mar 2020 10:42 AM PDT I've unlocked it and found Hero/Eleven (main character) to use it during battles that I've set to automatic. Grinding up to level 30 for Tentecular. Thanks! Also what level should I be for Tentecular? Tried twice at my party between 21-23 and failed. Think I'm way too low. [link] [comments]
How many hours is Dragon Quest 1-3? Posted: 27 Mar 2020 10:32 AM PDT As a kid, I played Dragon Warrior 1&2 but don't remember beating it cause it was sooooo long at the time. Approximately how many hours is each game so I can balance my time with other games. [link] [comments]
Extremely new dragon quest fan, wanted to ask for some help from the community Posted: 27 Mar 2020 10:29 AM PDT Hey guys! I'm an extremely new dragon quest fan! I've only played DQ 11 so far and I'm intoxicated by this game. I'm planning on starting a video series on YouTube where I play every DQ game (except 10 for obvious reasons) as a brand new-comer to the series. I wanted to ask you guys for some help. Do you guys have any tips about which order to play the rest of the games? Any non main series games that are worth checking out? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Were the Lips enemy meant to come off as suggestive? Posted: 27 Mar 2020 10:22 AM PDT Look, I know this is basically a shitpost. And I am probably alone on this one, but I can't help but find DQXI's Lips monster to be weirdly attractive. Not so much the slug itself, but the whole intense super kissing/licking thing. So, am I alone in this? Was their style of attack meant to be appealing or repulsive? [link] [comments]
Dragon Quest VII is a Slime-Shaped Turd Posted: 27 Mar 2020 06:36 AM PDT I've been playing this series since the NES. Years ago, as a not-yet-literate four year-old; Dragon Warrior's large map to explore, featuring semi-detailed fight backdrops with large enemy sprites captured my imagination. It was a completely different beast from the rest of the roughly dozen games my older brother owned - and I loved it for it. I memorized the meanings of every piece of menu text in order to stumble around in the game. At the time I could never make it past the dragon in the cave. Whether in DW or my other favorite, Mega Man 2, it was always fuckin' dragons raining fire down on me and my fun. Fast forward to my teenage years. I see Dragon Warrior 7 on a shelf at a store and I bite. I knew going in that the graphics were poor and it had it's warts, but I was still taken aback by just how much disdain for appearances and my time it had. Like most any other relationship where the other party completely gives up on appearances and only makes half efforts - I gave up on the franchise altogether. Skip ahead a couple more years later; I receive a random demo for Dragon Quest 8 in the mail. I give it a shot and I'm instantly hooked. It's beautiful and pays tribute to many of the things that I loved about Dragon Warrior, while removing many archaic annoyances and contrivances that Dragon Warrior 7 was holding on to. Since then I've played every numbered titled, finished most of them and have enjoyed them all to varying degrees; except for 7. I'm currently trying to play the 3DS remaster of Dragon Quest 7. While the 3DS version completely remedies the poor aesthetics, it still has no respect for the player's time. Which is funny, because the game has obviously been made with reducing the drag of the original in mind, but it doesn't do nearly enough in this department and some of the choices are baffling. There are no random battles, yet enemies are constantly placed in choke points and can even spawn directly underfoot. Why even bother changing the encounter system if this is the implementation? I recall in the original version, at the beginning, a series of a slightly interesting puzzles to attain 4 pieces of gear that act as a key. This has been replaced by walking across the map, just sort of grabbing them and bringing them back with a series of prolonged, repetitive animations. This is now a sequence that has no purpose; if there's no puzzles, there should be no locked door with four MacGuffins to collect. It's a solid 20 minute time sink that accomplishes nothing and doesn't even give you the satisfaction of completing a puzzle. Unfortunately, that has been the best brand of pointless time-sucking so far. Backtracking in itself is not a bad thing, but I've lost count of the times I've had to pointlessly backtrack from place/person B back to A and then back to B with nothing happening in between. If the makers wanted to make trims and edits, why not start here? I'm nearly 20 hours in and the game feels at most, like four hours of content stretched thin. I've tried to give this game too many chances over the years; it's just a turd. If the Dragon Quest games are comfort food, this thing is a Twinkie that's been left out - it's crusted over filler. Posted: 27 Mar 2020 05:41 AM PDT Hi dear fellas! I just bought DQXI for PS4. I am new to the series, so I would be more than grateful if you could share some tips or advice for a newcomer like me. Any kind of feedback is welcome! [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Mar 2020 09:24 AM PDT So just got DQ1 and (btw there may be spoilers in this question if like me you never played DQ1, and the only reason I never played is because I never got my hands on the game before) so I'm trying to upgrade my equipment and my lvl but I'm stuck with she slimes, slimes, drakey's, and the occasional Ghost, yeah just started last night. But they all give at most 3 exp and 4 gold, now I don't so much mind grinding for the exp but is there a way to get more gold? I need that copper sword, the iron armor in Ghalenhame (sp?) would be awesome and more Medicinal herbs and torches would make everything easier. [link] [comments]

How to get Terry’s dreamland English patch to work? Posted: 27 Mar 2020 04:52 AM PDT Iv downloaded the Japanese version with 1.1 and the English patch 1.2. But when I install the 1.1 and then install the 1.2 with fbi it crashes the game. The game runs with 1.1 fine with out the 1.2 patch. I know I'm doing something wrong. I just want to experience the game the way the translation team intended. Can some one please give me a hand figuring this out? [link] [comments]

DQS - One, Two, Hey! - Any tips Posted: 26 Mar 2020 08:25 PM PDT This mini-game is driving me nuts. It purely relies on luck, there are so far, no sign to indicate where what the AI will do. [link] [comments] |
