    Twofold post regarding Dragon Quest 9

    Yo I've got that itch again to play Dragon Quest 9, but I have a problem: If I start over how am I gonna get all the DLC content again? I know the wifi service got cut a couple of years ago but if I tag with someone or connect to them via multiplayer (either way requires to actually meet up with someone) I get what they got which is usually all of it. Maybe we can do some social distancing and meet up in meatspace? Or is there another workaround?

    Also I was gonna ask the server that I'm very active on to help me pick characters by sharing a Google form I just finished and figured I may as well drop it here just to see what other people think. It's still a WIP, I'm like 80% done, I'll make another post or edit this 1 to include it.

    Help grinding for the Wheel Of Harma (DQXI)

    So, I've finally run into a problem that I usually go through when replaying RPGs. I know exactly what to do, so I get to a point and am underleveled. Now, I would usually just look up the best places to grind, and then do so, but it seems most guides for DQXI grinding in Act 3 don't really cover anything pre-Wheel of Harma. Do you guys know any good places to grind (preferably with Metal Slimes) at this point in the game. Thank you.

    So a few months ago I bought a Nintendo Switch + DQ11 and played half way through it (my friend who finished the game, told me that I'm half way through). I got busy with different things and kinda lost motivation to play.

    I am currently in a psychological hospital and will stay here for about 9 or 10 weeks. And I brought my Switch lol. I'm not sure if I should replay or keep playing in my safe file.

    I don't like playing the same game file after not playing for a few months but I also don't want to do everything again. I'm not sure, maybe I could turn on challenges? I thought the game was a bit too easy.

    Any ideas?

    Missable Quests and experience?

    So I just went back in time, and I've heard that you cannot go back ever again. Anyways, I have a few questions.

    1. Will Quests (or monsters) that I did not complete or defeat in the past world permanently be gone?
    2. All my party members are now 20 levels below the hero. Will they regain those or do I have to gain them again?

    Act 1 and 2 were amazing, but I don't know how I feel about this whole leaving the past world behind thing. It's like everything that happened in act 2 was for nothing. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing what the post game has to offer. Thanks for any answers!

    looking for recommendations

    played through the dq11 demo on switch, loved it but currently not trying to spend 60 dollars on a game until i can fit it into the budget. so i ended up grabbing dragon quest 3 for 10 bucks and i am having a great time, really enjoying it. my question though, are there any more character-focused decent games in this franchise? loving dragon quest 3 but not a lot going on in terms of characterization, would love to see more of that if any of these games have a greater focus on that area. i know dragon quest 11 is probably what i want for that, but i guess i'm just looking to see what all this franchise might have to offer.

    DQIV postgame or DQV first?

    I recently beat the DS version of Dragon Quest 4, and at first I was planning on going all the way through Ch. 6 before moving on to DQV since it seems to be a continuation thing rather than just a bragging rights challenge like Memories Lane and IX's legacy bosses. However, based on how quickly the first postgame bosses steamrolled my party, I worry that it'll end up being a mega-grind like Xenlon, which isn't something that I'm opposed to, but I've been saving the more mind-numbing challenges for after I've beaten the main story of each game. So should I see Ch. 6 through to the end now, or revisit it after I've played through V, VI, and XI?

    Where should I get the DS and 3DS Dragon Quest games?

    I was looking on Amazon and some of them are marked around 100 dollars and at least 2 or 3 are over 60 dollars, is there somewhere else I can buy them were they aren't so expensive, basically 60 dollars or less since that is the normal price of a triple AAA game

    DQ11 - Version confusion / frustration

    Hello,

    I have recently bought the switch version of DQ11 - absolutely loving the game. Maybe 20-30 hours in, however the blurry textures of the game are really bothering me, especially since I own a PS4 and a good gaming rig. I will likely be selling my switch version and simply buying another version of the game, however this has put me down a confusing rabbit hole. The definitive edition of the game is coming to PS4 and Xbox (PC getting via Gamepass / Steam). Since I have Gamepass, lets just wait for that. Oh, it's not coming until Dec 4....ok... then I find out the PC Definitive version of the game is a PORT of the switch version, which is the same version I am already playing and complaining about its poor graphics. This has got to be the most backwards way to re-release a game I have ever seen.

    a: keep playing the switch version and ignore the awful visuals,

    b: buy the PC/PS4 version of the game and miss out of the features / content

    c: wait several months to play a version graphically inferior to the version already out on the PC

    Despite liking the game, I suspect I will just sell my switch copy and never touch the game again.

    dragon quest 11 beguilement block

    i'm currently at the part at octagonia where you have to do the double battle against jade followed by booga and i'm really just getting destroyed despite having a team of a level 38 and three level 39s, this is due to the beguilement that i currently have no way of blocking, is there some kind of accessory or anything that i can use?
