    1st try, top gear, top level was 85, 185 turns (lol, it was like an hour and a half) pretty much kerplunkled back and forth for awhile to stay alive.

    Hi guys, I want to play the first Dragon Quest, but I don't have a switch or older consoles, so I'm going for the IOS version for iPad. Is it playable? Since I'm Italian, is the English used too much archaic?

    How does the Defeat spell work?

    Just got into the franchise, finished 1 and 2, just started 3, and I finally want to know, how does the Defeat spell work at least in 2, if not universally? Yeah I know it insta-kills, but what factors play into the success rate beyond an enemy's resistance to it? Like, does the level or current HP dictate how likely it is to work?

    Level required for Mordegon Draconian ( super hard) ??

    What level (without using Erik since I don't want to follow a guide) do I need for Mordegon in super hard, draconian? I have the hero at 51 but he kills the group with one hit. Definitive edition. Thank you!

    Controller problem with GamePass DQXI S

    Hello ! Upon gifting myself a new headset I received a promotion code for the Xbox GamePass so I took it, since there are several games I've been wanting to play there. DQXI is one of them. I began playing and everything went perfectly well, had tons of fun, no problem.

    Next time I open the game, my controller is apparently not detected? I close the game, open another game to check: my controller (Xbox one) works perfectly fine. I tried uninstalling and resinstalling DQ but this didn't change anthing. Upon trying a few things in game with the keyboard etc it suddenly worked again. Managed to play another session perfectly fine.

    But today for the third day in a row the controller won't work in game. I've tried to replicate what I did, even though I don't know what enabled the controller to work last time, but it didn't change anything that time. Have been trying for three full days to fix that because honestly it doesn't appeal to me to play that game with k+b as it's clearly not designed for that.

    Any suggestion?

    Question about one of the stories of DQ7

    That herb garden story confused the hell out of me. Why did Keifer tell Pepe " You and Linda can find a way to repay the debt"

    Why would the debt be his issue? But what I really don't understand, is why he ran away after he told Linda 10x that he can't abandon his family.. but he abandons them anyways.. and without her. My mind is so boggled lol pls send halp. S

    eems like lazy writing on their part, I mean they put together 100 hour game but can't give us 2 more sentences that help the story make more sense lol. IDK if this is something cleared up in the 3DS version that someone can help me understand, because in the PS1 version the whole thing was unclear

    Hey all,

    I'm sure you see this a lot, but I'm 100% brand new to DQ. I absolutely love Persona 5 and I'm looking at getting into both dragon quest and final fantasy. I have decided I'll probably start with FF7R for final fantasy, and for DQ it seems like 11 is a great entry point for me.

    That being said, I've seen that there are/were apparently some differences between the switch and PS4 version, but I'm confused on whether the "S" version on the PS4 is the same as the switch now or if there is stil an advantage to one over the other.

    I'd appreciate the clarification. Thanks all! Excited to begin to experience this series!

    again, this a spoiler. i am playing the DEFINITIVE EDITION, this may, or may not apply to the other versions as well.

    double boss fight at the top of Octagonia, Jade then Booga.

    you do NOT have to beat both in the same run. you CAN beat jade, lose, respawn at the church, then fight booga at full power.

    in other words, unless your doing a "perfect" run, there is no need to worry too much when facing such annoying bosses.
