    When using the hallelujah pep power it's says "oodles of experience" but does anyone know the actual amount the experience goes up by? Is it double or like 1.5x?

    Does anyone else think dragon quest XI has a touching story?

    I don't want to post any spoilers so I will just say I'm level 25 and the story has already had me in tears once and touched me. I tried so many times to get into this game and dropped it. Then the new edition came out on game pass, i thought hey why not give it one more go now this edition is out. I'm so glad I did, this game has really touched me and I am enjoying playing it. Yay :)

    DQ11s definitive edition

    I played the original back in 2017 and was hesitant on buying the new one for the "add-ons". But HOLY SHIT is it worth it! The Japanese voice overs add an amazing touch to the story, your party members tail you so you're not always alone, and I just got to the additional character stories and this is awesome!

    Also you can speed up battles to grind faster which is convenient and you can dash so you don't have to jog through certain parts and that's convenient too.

    If you played the original and didn't plan on playing the definitive version you should reconsider. It's totally worth it!

    Also, I'm not sure if the voice of character is the same for English version but Alice (pink masked thug with Sylvia/Sylvando) - his voice is the same as the guy that did for DQ8's Yangus!

    It's been a rough holiday season but this game certainly made things better :)

    n00b DQXI questions for advanced players

    As some background, I have played DQVII (PS1), DQIX (DS), DQIV (DS), and DQV (DS). Just getting back into the series with DQXI (XBO) and had a few general questions. Currently I am at Puerto Valor and I have numbered the questions for easier answering.

    1. Should I be relying on forging weapons or buying them? Is there generally a better option in this regard?
    2. What do perfectionist pearls really do? Should I save them up for late-game?
    3. My party balance looks like Hero (Greatsword), Erik (Boomerang), Sylvando (Sword), and Rab (Heavy Wand). I use Hero for high damage plus magic, Erik for mobs, Sylvando for general damage and status changes, and Rab for magic and healing. Does this work as a balanced team or should I approach it differently?
    4. Are there clearly identified skill trees for each character (including one's not currently in my main lineup)?
    5. What are the Metal Slime (all types) strategies that have been identified for XI? For example, is there a specific weapon+skill to learn quickly and abuse?
    6. Similarly, is there a good money-making strategy that I should be aware of?
    7. Why did they troll us and make Jade the Hero's sister?!?!

    Demo Save File Transfer to Epic Games?

    Does anyone know if the demo save file from steam can transfer to the full version of the game in epic games launcher? The current holiday sale allows me to use the $10 coupon in the EGL, so I want to save the money if possible. (For DQXIS)

    Two skill tree questions

    1. How do I unlock Bonus panels on the skill tree?
    2. Does resetting a tree still grant you stat bonuses it gives you like +10 MP? I was reading a guide and it said to get something on the tree and then reset it for points.

    Which game is this sound effect from?

    I was playing DQ11 S for PC, at lonalulu listening to the story of the mermaid, and a sound effect plays to create tension during that story and I got a shot of nostalgia from hearing it, but I can't put my finger on which game it is from. Can someone help me out here? Link before to the best video I could find containing it, it's not mine.

    DQ11: in game spell explanations lacking?

    For dazzle it says something to the effect of "wraps the enemies in halluciantions" but says nothing about what that actually means mechanically. Is there another screen, other than the attributes menu, that has greater detail on spell effects? I cannot for the life of me find it and hallucinate isn't in the battle status ailments tips.

    where should I grind before squid boss?

    There's no where to grind on Lonalulu and I wanna level up a few times before I engage the boss and the sea monsters are pretty weak and don't grant me that much experience... is there a specific place I can sail to that will give me sufficient place before I fight the damned squid?

    Question about Steam DQ11 vs DQ11: Definitive Edition Saves

    So I'm most of the way through Act 1 of DQ11 on the original Steam release. I got away from it for awhile due to 2020 being 2020, and I'm about ready to pick it back up. I see that there's a new release on steam with some great quality of life features. But if I get it, will I have to start over or can I use my original game save?
