When should I do the Electro Light leveling trick?

    Posted: 23 Apr 2021 10:33 AM PDT

I'm right on the start of Act 2 with Sylvando. I wanna eventually get the platinum trophy so eventually I'll have to get everyone to level 99. My question is when should I start doing this? The only thing I'm missing is Erik's critical ability.

I have original DQ11 and I always had to turn off BGM because it grated on my ears but I just got the DQ11S with the symphonic bgm and it's smooth, i'm just amazed.

Dq 6 needs to be remade.

    Posted: 22 Apr 2021 04:33 PM PDT

It has everything that it needs to become a great dq game except it's made poorly. It has a an interesting story, world, voc system and characters except it feels very unutilized or unfinished. They could have fixed those issues with the ds port except they didnt. I really want a fully reimagined remake of this game.

God level luck or just easy mode?

    Posted: 22 Apr 2021 05:34 PM PDT

Found the Casino in DQXI, and just bought 50 tokens. After about 45 minutes I was up to 75,000 just playing poker.

So like, did I just use up my luck for this month, or is it just that high of a win ratio?

    Dragon Warrior III GBC Giveaway

    Posted: 22 Apr 2021 11:33 AM PDT

Hey everyone! Recently I came across a second copy of Dragon Warrior III for GBC. I thought about selling my older copy but decided that I'd rather give it to a good home. Certainly the past year or so has been challenging so I hope to bring some joy to someone even in a small way.

So here's the deal. I would like this game to go to someone who is either new to the series or has never played 3 before. This can either be you or for someone you know that fits this criteria. So to enter for the giveaway just leave a comment along the lines of what interests you about the series. Or if you are getting it for someone else tell me about your first experiences with the series.

I will cover cost of shipping within the continental 48 states.

The contest will end in 24 hours and I will pick someone at random.

(Also mods if this isn't allowed, I will be happy to remove this post)

Dragonquest XI, alternate sound effects mod?

    Posted: 22 Apr 2021 10:54 PM PDT

Never played a single DQ game except builders, which I imagine doesn't count, and I started up XI. Enjoying it a lot, but the old-school 8 bit sound effects are driving me crazy... I get that they're iconic, nostalgic and almost mandatory, but I don't have that history so for me they're just annoying and super jarring. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the battle victory jingle or something, but it's constant.

Does there exist a mod to replace them? Has the company ever made updated versions, or are these just what they always go with? Can I replace some sound files myself even?

I've heard good things so I want to try and play anyway, but it's getting to me. Thanks for any help!

    Kenshin Dragon Quest issues

    Posted: 22 Apr 2021 02:37 PM PDT

just got a copy of #KenshinDragonQuest, but I'm stuck on the sword calibration screen. Sounds like a common problem connecting the sword to the console sensors, with no discernible solution. Has anyone experienced this & figured out a solution? Does the system require a CRT instead? That seems odd because it comes with sensors.

So about Dragon Quest: Your Story...

    Posted: 22 Apr 2021 01:42 PM PDT

Just watched it for the first time and... oof. I remember the Japanese fanbase going nuclear on this movie back when it first released and thought that maybe they were just overreacting, as otaku tend to do. I could not have been more wrong. I've never seen a movie shoot itself in the foot so hard like that so close to the finish line. It just kept going, shot off one toe and went back for another.
