    What's the common consensus about the Your Story movie?

    I found out this movie exists yesterday and I'm a bit curious about it.

    For reasons that aren't really important, the 7 year old brother of a friend of mine had to come over and he asked me to put on Your Story for him. I sorta passively watched it a bit, and it kinda grabbed my attention in certain aspects. I thought the little 8-bit opening was really cool, the animation in general was really good, the English voice acting seemed good despite the bad lip syncing, I thought monsters exploding into, I can only assume like little pixels was really clever.

    I have very little experience with DQ as a whole, my engagement with it boils down to Smash's DLC and playing the first 2-3 hours of 11S. I was able to recognize Luca purely because of Erdick's alt and his appearance in Hero's Final Smash.

    Anyway I was just wondering what the DQ community's consensus of the movie was, cause what I saw of it, it looks pretty neat and I would love to see a similar project be done for Zelda with that animation engine. Is it faithful to 5 or did it create a new story with 5's characters and world, or did it do neither and just completely butcher the adaptation?

    Oh also I loved how Slime would just be vibing in the background for a good chunk of scenes. I should clarify that I only watch up until Luca's wife (forgot her name oop) got kidnapped by the villain, and they revealed that she has like this special type of blood and her eyes are supposed to be golden but her parents put a spell on her?

    hi all! first time posting here; my bf and i have been playing through dq11 together and i just beat act 2 for the first time, and he's middway through act 3 i'm going to start a new save so i can play through act 3 leisurely, but have a new file and turn on harder enemies, no experience from weaker enemies, and game over if protag perishes for my new file. (I already beat the game with protag perish on, but I got used to it so I'll do it again)

    I was also considering using a different weapon for every offensive member of my party, but with the draconian restrictions on, is this unadvised? I've heard the game gets a LOT harder with these restrictions on, so I don't want to make the game unfun lol. I'm not gonna do anything wild like give serena a spear or give rab claws (though I might give Vron a whip, because it's hilarious to me) but I relied HEAVILY on Erik dual wielding knives and the hero dealing ass tons of damages on greatswords, so switching up their builds might be fun. Suggestions of what I should do, what I definitely shouldn't do? I just really enjoy this game and i feel like there's so much more to experience!Have any of you specced serena with a spear? How did that go for you? Thanks!!

    Can someone convince me, without spoilers, to beat DQ5?

    Like, I'm going to beat it eventually. I've just hit a stagnant point. For reference, I started playing (for the first time ever) the DQ series a couple months ago in order. Beat 1 in a day, 2 in a few days, 3 in a week, and 4 in a little over a week.

    Now, I'm barely through number 5 and not really feeling it. Story-wise, I'm about to reunite with my sabercat. I'm about 10 hours in and me and my 3 monster allies are in the cave to save the village of Hay from what I assume is Purrcy. But I just haven't gone back to it yet.

    I've been on 5 for more than a month now. The heroes dad was cool, the flash forward after being a slave was cool, I'm just not that interested. I can't exactly pinpoint what the difference in levels of enjoyment between 4 and 5 are for me, but I think it has to do with the fact that the opening chapters of 4 were extremely gripping. Playing as the different party members had me super invested into the story, but as of now the story of 5 feels like a step backwards for me.

    I know I'm still probably at the "beginning" of the game. Can anyone give me a reason to continue being enthused without spoiling major plot events?

    Sorry for the weird request, I just really want to to continue but am dreading the thought of going back to spend gold on re-equipping my monsters considering I have no idea how useful they'll be after another 5 hours of gameplay.

    Edit- I also just want to clarify, I'm not harping on the series at all. After playing 1-4, the DQ franchise is already in my top three greatest of all times. I just really want to play them in order, and need an extra push to keep going with 5. I think maybe 5's are just cursed for me. When I played through the entire Final Fantasy series, I dragged my feet on FF5 for the exact same reason. Doesn't compare to 4 as of yet, and nothing is really gripping me even though I know I'll have enjoyed it by the end.

    bug in dragon quest XI controller

    well ive played the whole game with controller, recently id wanted to play it again with different builds so i downloaded it again but when i start to play it seems that the right arrow of the controller also do the same function that the A button (so it move to the right but A at the same time) so i cant use the menus properly, i checked the settings and everything seems to be alright and its not my controller because i played other games to check and it only happens on dq XI

    Edit: i play on steam on pc, and i use a pc controller thats plug and play so no drivers

    Theres so much dialogue and information in DQ 11. This is my first DQ, so I can't compare it to the others. To me, most of the game content is dialogue. Any time an event is updated in the game, dialogue from the townspeople is updated.

    I have literally dragged out the game because I talk to my party every time something is updated with the story or when I arrive at a location. And I talk to all the townspeople before doing something that changes an event, and immediately talking with all of them again after the changes. Am I the only one? There's so much information I've discovered by doing so

    Hey!

    Im thinking about getting some games to play but im really unsure about DQ XI S. It looks amazing, unique, like a big adventure im not gonna forget like other mediocre games nowadays.

    I have two big questions for you fans out there: How much role other characters have in the game? Im looking for games which contains more than one characters, but i saw only the main hero is playable in the open world, the rest of the crew is there when fighting and cutscenes. I dont really like that, but the other chars are still there a lot in the game, or its mainly about the "hero"?

    So i watched tons of videos it really looks cool, but im not a big fan of that fighting system in general. How much focus is on the fights? One can get used to it? It looks "bearable" but not sure how hard is going to be later on.

    Thank you for the answer. Game looks absolutely amazing, but im not sure about purchasing it.

    I just got the 6 orbs and got to arboria. Also i was able to defeat the previous boss the witch with 3 strikes from the hero. Does it get harder?
