    Dance and Breath skills; completely useless?

    Currently playing DQM:CH and had a few questions. I know barely anyone plays this game but the questions are vague enough to apply to the series as a whole.

    It seems breath and dance skills are rendered totally useless by spells. There's not really anything a dance or breath can do that a spell can't do better.

    Are breath attacks based on wisdom or attack (or something else)? I've raised a Jenodark with 999 attack and wisdom, but it's breath attacks do 1/3rd the amount of damage that it's basic attack or similar spell can do. Magic spells seem to deal significantly more damage than a breath attack that does the same thing (fire damage to group of enemies, etc). Even if I use Hold Breath to boost my breath attacks, it makes almost no difference yet a spell will do almost twice as much damage with the same effect. I also noticed that many spells can target All Enemies while breath attacks seem to be stuck to singular groups.

    After testing, breath attacks have a fixed damage and cannot be boosted outside of Hold Breath. The damage output is super low during endgame and are completely outclassed by spells.

    Am I missing something? Is there a trick to using breath attacks? I just think they're cool but if they're really just worse magic spells I'll ditch them. Apparently disabling spells will leave breath attacks usable still, but it's really not worth the massive damage drop compared to spells or just regular attacks.

    So, I have played through the original version (1st version) many times. One thing I never understood was this: Why FFS does the hero no resettle and rebuild his kingdom? Seriously, he is king of Dundrasil. and Even with taking Gemma his wife, he likely could easily get the other rules to give aid in its rebuilding.
