- Got my ass beat and yeeted out of the ruined abbey, had to grind it out and Angelo was 4 lvls behind(went with bows for him). Hopefully playing like this will give me a boost!
- Started playing Dragon Quest 7 recently, got a couple of questions for people, help a new guy out? Already finished DQ 8 and 11. Will be a little long. New to Dragon Quest, and first time playing 7.

| Posted: 23 Oct 2021 06:08 AM PDT NO SPOILERS PLEASE. Though I posted recently cause I was stuck on Slaughtermaton. Alright, so first off, I'll just assume Kiefer's gone for good. 12 hours and still nothing from him. Just "Avengers Endgame Captain America'd" himself to the past to be with a girl. Honestly? A little disappointed that he just left, and the reaction was a little lackluster. So, do I get a new member soon? Just beat Gracos. Second, vocations. Already done some. Am I alright with what I'm doing? I want to do the basic vocations that are good for each character before the advanced ones. In order, this is what I've done. Protag: Warrior, Sailor, Priest, Martial Artist, Mage. Then Paladin or Armentalist. (I thought that Warrior and Priest became Paladin, must have read it wrong the first time) Maribel: Mage, Priest, Troubador, Jester, Dancer. Then Sage or Luminary. Ruff: Shepard, Jester(Chose these 2 first cause I thought it was funny the wolf had costumes, was a horrible mistake, some boss fights were a nightmare), Sailor, Thief, Priest(I want Paladin). Then Warrior or Monster Masher. The goddamn EGO contest. I was so confused by it. After trying for a couple of minutes, I found the billboard with the rankings. But how do I win? Strength with Protag with 72 with strength ring as Martial Artist failed. Wisdom with Maribel as Mage with 90 with Scholar's Specs failed. Style with Maribel as Troubador with 172 with Glass Slippers(found this Greta quest with a little googling, but nothing else.) failed. And I can't even get above a 15 rank for style and above 25 rank for Strength and Wisdom. Fourth, is it worth to buy weapons and armor? Not sure any is worth it, cause it boosts my stats by like 10 or so, only bought the Faerie Foil cause it does a free Buff. Also, does Dragon Quest like putting weaker items in later parts of the game? In 7, 8 and 11, I find like a Leather Hat in a wardrobe, but its 15 less defence than what I have currently equipped. Only in 8 its fine, with alchemy and all. Anyway, if you answered my questions, thanks for your help! And I plan to play the previous games, (if I can find them, maybe emulation) and what about 9 and 10? The only reason I played 7 and 8 after 11 was because I thought it was different, but 7 and 8 looked like a normal JRPG. [link] [comments] | ||

| Anyone else think Act 2 is the worst? (SPOILERS) Posted: 22 Oct 2021 07:43 PM PDT I loved Dragon Quest 11 (including Act 2) but I think I'm one of the few where Act 2 was my least favorite of the 3 acts. All were great, but I wasn't a fan of losing zoom and my party members and having to trudge through the world all over again to get everything back. I think some of the character moments were highlights though, like Erik and especially Serena. Otherwise, I found character arcs like Jasper's and Jade's pretty lacking. Also, the ending was really abrupt after defeating Mordegon, and I'm not sure why so many people felt satisfied enough to stop playing at that point. I like the darker tone but I think Acts 1 and 3 felt much more like Dragon Quest and were more fun to play (though I think Act 2 has a better story overall). What do you guys think? | Posted: 22 Oct 2021 07:15 PM PDT Hi everyone. I'm currently playing through DQH2. Not exactly sure how far I am in the plot, but I reckon I'm at least halfway through (currently climbing Mt Neverest). My question is about changing MC jobs. I haven't touched the job system at all and have kept my MC as a warrior this whole time apart from the few cases where I've needed a specific job for a quest. Will I need to grind out different jobs to make it through the main plot? I'm not a completionist so I probably won't do all the missions and I'm not planning on doing any post-game content if there is any. Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||
