the most frustrating moments when I was playing DQ3 (major spoilers) Posted: 22 Oct 2021 09:43 AM PDT So I am in this situation when I need the Ultimate Key. (1) in Lanson a guy tells me you need a pot (2) also in Lanson this friendly slime tells me I need the invisible potion to get into Edina castle (3) so I go to the Edina castle, solved the rock puzzle and got the pot (4) another clues are the key is in a shrine and that there's a sunken shrine somwere "off the shore" (5) but where to find this shrine? when I use the pot on land it tells me nothing happens, when I use it while I am sailing in the ocean, it tells me "nothing happens here" so it is obvious I need to use it somewhere on the sea (6) that was the time where I got the clue from the old fellow in the town full of dead people, he tells me that for the key I need to go to Lanson (7) so I inspected every inch of Lanson shore trying to use the pot there, no luck, the same with Edina, where this "off the shore" clue was it took me several days, maybe weeks, when I, looking for clues, finally found this "half sunken island" or what can I call it north of Jipang and thought to myself this could be the shrine, used the pot and hallelujah: it was! now that I have the ultimate key, more possibilities opened for me in the game so finally I am not stuck. I am glad I found this myself. [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Oct 2021 05:37 PM PDT I know I just made a post but would like to isolate one for my praise of the DS remakes. Holy shit are these games great. I have played good remakes but damn these games are one of the most perfect I have every seen and played. Not one dull moment. All three I could have played back to back and not gotten burnt out. I loved the chapter system of DQ4 and thought it was neat to get to know each character through their own chapter. DQ5 had the unique monster system without being a Pokemon clone and also had some of the best music I have ever heard in a game. It was also nice to watch the character grow old and start a family. DQ6 I had heard mixed reviews about and was torn on whether to play it next. Let me just say I was not at all disappointed. The story may not be like 4 and 5 but the class system was really fun. Mortamor is one of the hardest DQ bosses in my opinion. I absolutely loved the game. It scratched the itch I had when playing 4 and 5. [link] [comments]

Is it true attacking your own party members is missing from the Mobile/Switch version of DQ3? Posted: 22 Oct 2021 09:23 AM PDT I've heard that in DQ3, you could attack your own party members to force them to snap out of at least Confussion, but this was allegedly removed in the Switch/Mobile version. Is this true? (And did it work for other status effects? like Sleeping.) [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Oct 2021 05:29 PM PDT Well I will start off my post by saying my love of rpgs began with Final Fantasy. I have played Final Fantasy 1 through 10(the good ones). I have been on a mission the past few years to play all the top rpgs. I have beaten all the popular and well beloved titles such as Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Lufia, Lunar, Suikoden, Chrono series, Earthbound, Phantasy Star 4, Super Mario RPG and the list goes on and on. Throughout my journey I have played a Dragon Quest game in between some of the titles mentioned above. I just have to say I am hooked and when thinking of my next rpg to play it is hard to not pick the next Dragon Quest. I finally found the love and have filled the void of missing Final Fantasy. I always wondered how Dragon Quest measured up and now I know this series is incredible. I have played DQ 1 through 6 now and am working on 7 currently. The DS remakes of 4 ,5, ans 6 are some of the best remake work I have ever seen displayed. Can't wait for DQ 8. The holy grail of the series! [link] [comments]
