What level should I be to fight this boss? (DQ11) (Potential spoilers)

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 09:33 AM PDT

So I've been enjoying DQ11 on my Switch a lot recently, but right now I'm having a spot of bother. I'm in Heliodor Castle and have been trying to fight Tyriant, but it's been proving troublesome. I'm level 27, is that too low? If so, where should I go to level up fast? If not, how do I beat this guy?

I'm near the end of act 1 but am abit to low level for act 2. Where would be the best place/method to level up before heading into act 2?

[MILD SPOILERS] I am at the end of Act 3 and most of my Characters are level 50, what do I do to level up faster ?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 05:19 AM PDT

I came to a point where I can't even finish the first boss of the Trystan Maze so I won't even attempt the final boss in Erdwin Star. I have 2pep potions left from the dlc but also I'm only level 50 so it won't be really useful to use them now.

What should I do to level up/get more pep potions ? Can I fight again bosses ? Grottos like in IX maybe ?

    Thanks for your help !

Trying to find the name of a Dragon Quest game I used to play.

    Posted: 06 Oct 2019 11:01 PM PDT

I remember I had a DQ game on my DS years ago, your character was the slime. It was 2D, top-down and I think the bulk of the gameplay was mech battles, you would manage yours and potentially infiltrate the ai's. I was hoping you folks could help me find the name of it. Thank you for your time

I've lost the cartridge but I'd love to see if I could get ahold of a copy for the sake of nostalgia.

    DQ1 Switch gold farming

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 10:21 AM PDT

I found an interesting big yesterday while playing DQ1 on Switch. If you enter the destroyed town to the west, do not take any steps, close the game, reload the auto save, and go left to leave the town, keep going left on the overworld map, and after about 7 steps, you will always encounter a gold golem. If you heal after the battle one time and take 6 steps to the right (one step before entering the town again) you will encounter another one. Heal, then enter the town, close the game, rinse repeat for easy 650 gold each battle. This seems to work 100% of the time but if you heal at any other time than after the battles (i.e. in the town), it will disrupt the pattern. I haven't found this method anywhere in the internet so far and I'm wondering if it is unique to this version of the game. Any additional input as to whether this works for you would be great!

Level to beat DQ2 on Switch?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 09:57 AM PDT

I heard all the negatives, but I decided to play thru the original trilogy in order. I know 2 is grindy as heck, but whats a good level to be at in the Switch version? I plan to spend a couple hours on random encounters while listening to podcasts tonight lol.

What level should I be at when I get new party members in Dragon Quest 11?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 09:00 AM PDT

I watched the Kotaku review of the game, so I know that the final party members come in at level 24. I just met Veronica and I'm at level 11. I don't want much of a level differential in my party, so what level do the party members come in at?

Dragon Quest XI S: Item Location Differences?

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 08:27 AM PDT

Has anyone noticed chests containing items they didn't contain in previous versions?

I just got XI the Definitive Edition for Switch, and the Introduction to Armour recipe book isn't behind the Hotto Inn like it usually is. I got 100 coins instead.

[DQ2] Just finished Dragon Quest II for the first time. I just want to say It was a lot of fun and this game is really hard

    Posted: 06 Oct 2019 09:22 PM PDT

A lot of times I see people in this sub saying this game is grind, but if you play without a guide you will get lost so many times you wont need to grind at all.

Dont get me wrong, I had fun playing this game, and the final part is really cool, but some dungeons are a pain in the ass with the endless rooms and the random encounter rate is a bit too high.

If you never played, give It a try, but dont feel ashamed about having to use a guide.

    Missed a quest in Heliodor...

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 04:00 AM PDT

I played the demo when it came out, and I apparently missed a quest in Heliodor called "It Takes Two to Tango." Now I'm playing the full game proper, and I'm wondering if I'm locked-out of that quest for good, or if there's a New Game + or some way I can get the quest going? Like, will I be able to go back to Heliodor eventually?
