    Dear /r/dragonquest

    Over the past few weeks we've gotten scattered reports that the DQ 8 music option was not showing up on the Audio settings, even after claiming the Trodain costume from the Misc. portion of the menu.

    After talking to several of these individuals, it seems a common thread is originally claiming the DLC in 2D Mode (including Tockington). It seems that the DQ 8 music option is still visible in the 2D mode (or Tockington), but not present in the 3D mode.

    All may not be lost: For some, it seems switching the music in Tockington and then continuing in 3D maintains the music itself but does not fix the visibility of the option in 3D. However, I have not confirmed if this is true for everyone suffering from the issue.

    Please feel free to post below if you are suffering from these issues and can confirm / deny how it happened to you. However, note that downloading the DLC from eshop is not enough, you must "Claim Special Rewards" under Misc.

    I will keep this post pinned for a little while unless they release a patch to fix it.

    Dragon Quest XI S guide, endings and DLC

    I'm going to start DQ 11 S up pretty soon, but I want to make sure I cover everything thing.

    So from what I understand, there aren't any missables? For example, DLC? DQ VIII 3DS had those downloadable DLC items. Is there anything like that in XI S? Speaking of VIII, I still haven't completed it, but am so eager to start XI. Will it hurt to come back to VIII a little later? Will I lose my place in the story etc.?

    Also, about how many endings are there in XI S? (No spoilers please.) I have contemplated getting the PS4 guide, just because I like player's guides, for endings and such. I heard the Ps4 guide matches the Switch pretty well. Is this true?

    And is there a good place to learn about best builds and the skill tree?

    I have played DQ XI on 3DS before, and decided to play it again on Switch for the upgraded graphics

    And boy, the new contents in DQ XI S are amazing.

    Those new chapters added between Act 1 and Act 2, are some of the best additional contents I've ever seen.

    If this game was made by some other studios, these would have been paid DLC with $10 for each chapter.

    New storylines that have actual twists and are tied to the characters backgrounds. New temporary characters, that also come with unique animation and voice over. New animated cutscenes. And it just keeps on going! One character after another.

    These chapters have become my favourite part of the DQ XI.

    Is there a point to grinding for the post game in DQXI?

    Ive seen a ton of videos on youtube on how to level up to 99 and what have you. So is there any crazy super bosses that you can fight towards the end game or any cool post game stuff you need to be mega powerful for? I would love to know if theres anything like this!

    I was wondering if there are any groups that do online battles for any of the joker games on here? I know Joker 3 was fan translated but that was a few years ago. I think it would be great to do online battles for this game if there is a group or if one could be started.

    Tearing down the pyramid?

    I hate the pyramid. It's terrible lol. If I tear it down once the quest is complete will it affect anything negatively? I'd really like to turn the Sands area into the main home base.

    Can the Dragon Quest 11 demo save be uploaded to Nintendo Switch Online?

    I'm sorry if this is the wrong spot. I've been looking and can't seem to find the answer. I've got a long flight ahead of me and wanted to start the demo, but will be purchasing the switch with the bigger battery after the flight. Id rather not spend lots of time if I'm going to lose the save and would just wait to after.

    So I am doing the luminary trial right now, am lvl 84.

    I have problems finishing the last trial in time because of being turned to gold constantly. So I was wondering if the accesories that protect one from effects that make one miss their turn help against the turn to gold effect. Or if not, are there other accessories that help?
