    I just finished my play through of the Erdrick Trilogy on Switch, and wow, Dragon Quest 3 is truly a timeless masterpiece. I find it kind of hard to believe that the original version came out in 1988 since it was so far ahead of its time. I loved how open the game felt, and it had a great if simple story. It was really the perfect way to end the trilogy.

    Having only finished I,II,III, and XI S so far, I felt like III came extremely close to beating XI S for me. It was really that good.

    Next up, I am going to play either IV on my ipad or VIII on my 3DS. I'm hoping that I can tolerate the touch screen controls for IV-VI since the DS versions are so expensive.

    Language question for DQ XI S for Switch

    I live in Japan and I know that the Japanese version doesn't support English text but the premium version does allow you to select English voice acting.

    My question is, as a pre-intermediate learner of Japanese with the kana and a few hundred kanji more or less memorized, will I be able to enjoy DQ XI? I'm okay with it being a quasi-study tool, but I don't want to have to be constantly looking up words and phrases in my dictionary. So is most of the story told via voice acting, like with Fire Emblem: Three Houses? Or is voice acting used more along the lines of Zelda: BOTW?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated and I'd be particularly curious to hear from any other Japanese learners who are using DQ to help with their studies.

    I'm thinking of buying a tablet this Black Friday, so I was wondering how the DQ ports of I through VI fair on a tablet vs a smartphone? I've read a few comments where people prefer playing on a smartphone, but why is that the case? I'm thinking the controls might be more centered around playing the game on a smartphone so it's harder to control with a larger screen sized tablet? Is that the case?

    I just beat Dora in Grey (that was pretty easy tbh) and now I'm looking for some places/tips to improve my equipment and the party. All party members are around lvl 45 atm so I don't know if it's good or not. Any advice will be useful.

    What to do for post game content in DQXI?

    The objective aside from enjoying the peace of Yggdrasil. But i've heard about a lot of post game content and i'd like to consume more extra story. So far i've only went to the last bastion and got a scene there with Jade and Cornelian (kinda wish we gemma was more involved) but afterwards I didn't know what to do.

    Also this game is amazing and def a top 5 game for me.

    Looking to buy Dragon Quest XI but not sure what platform to buy it on. Currently own a PS4, a Switch, and a decent gaming PC. Are there any reasons to go PS4 or Switch other than preference? Is the PC port good enough? Seems like it has good reviews on Steam so I assume so.

    Edit: Thanks everyone, I think I'm going for the Switch version. Slightly lesser graphics and trophies aren't a big deal to me and it sounds like the switch version offers more.

    I'm about to finish Act 2 in DQXI, should I stop to finish the side quests first?

    I'm just getting the last few monsters in my Bestiary before I take on Mordegon's fortress, and I realized I still have a handful of quests that need finishing. I don't really feel like doing them all right now when I'm close to finishing this act, but I wanted to check in case Mordegon ends up being a point of no return. Am I safe to leave the remaining quests until the post game/act 3? Or should I try to finish them all now?

    DQXI Leveling up in Act 2?

    I just got to the Fortress of Fear and I feel like I'm a liitttle under leveled. I see lots of posts about King Metal Slimes or something but it's all post game stuff. This is my first play through of DQXI, BTW. What are good farming locations for EXP?
