Dragon quest of the stars - guilds/end game?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 08:20 AM PST

Having a little trouble finding a lot of details on dragon quest of the stars. Is there a guild/clan system in the game? Also what is the end game experience like?

    Thank you for any input

Gear recipes, grinding, and preparation (spoilers)

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 07:43 AM PST

I'm going into the final dungeon. I'm about to face Mordegon and I have defeated Indignus. But the highest my character is at is Level 48, and my gear is becoming seriously obsolete. Do any XI experts have any tips for weapons and loadouts on each character? I don't want to be wiped immediately by the Dark One.

Thoughts on the character-specific substories in XIS? [Spoilers]

The ones between Parts 1 and 2?

I'm currently on a blind playthrough and have felt like Sylvando's ground the pacing to a halt. Wound up putting the game away for two or so weeks (was also busy, but just didn't feel like coming back to it). It's a little discouraging, I feel, because just when you're in a nice rhythm of having a fairly open world and meaningful decisions to make with both build and objectives, you're railroaded into a linear sequence with no real choices to make over either.

It's so long too. I can't believe Sylvando's keeps going after the circus recruitment.

Dreading the ones that follow this, especially if they're similarly linear and fetch-questy. (Go here; to talk to this person; no go talk to that one, etc.) I just want to get back to exploring with my party. What are the larger community thoughts about this section, even among those who really like the game?

Edit -- Just finished Sylvando's. Thankfully it doesn't last long after the circus. But still, I can't fathom as to why these were in there at all. They feel like padding both narratively and gameplay-wise.

(DQM:Terry’s Wonderland 3D) Is the Original DWM Strategy Guide still Helpful?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 02:34 AM PST

I played the Original DWM years ago and now that I got my hands on the Patched Terry's Wonderland,I'm wondering if it's difficult to play without an official guide.(Monster list,Breeding,General Walkthrough etc)

Is the official strategy guide for DQM going to be any help or will I be fine with the Terry's Wonderland Google Doc (it looks daunting).

Apologies for my Dragon Quest (Monsters) Rustiness it's been over 20 years.

    Thanks.

Just wondering, I wanna buy a NES and play 2-4 on it but are they in English? I’d be annoyed if I bought all this and the games are in Japanese

Can we make it a rule that all posts need to have flairs either tied to the game in focus or the content?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2020 02:29 PM PST

so like a question on Baccarat will have the flair VIII and flair on the how to recruit Jade would have XI? and then like fanart and whatnot would just have like a discussion or fanart flair? i thought it would help clean up the titles of a lot of posts

    About the dq11 ending....

    Posted: 01 Feb 2020 09:07 PM PST

    Spoilers obviously

Thinking about the cameo right before the credits. I've heard a bunch of people say that it is the Dq1 protagonist and I can see that for sure but thinking about it I believe him to be Ortega (dq3 protag's daddy) In dq3, when you find your dads' helm it is orange instead of blue, the colors of the dq1 hero. This would make more sense as to why he finds the sword of light on a cliff and not in Charlock castle. I know this is obvious to some but I found it interesting

I'm About To Say Something Bold

    Posted: 01 Feb 2020 08:58 PM PST

This might get a little controversial, but I now think Dragon Quest 7 is the best Dragon Quest. Now, let me explain. Dragon Quest 7 is not better than eight or four in terms of story or "enjoyability". Dragon Quest 7 has some of the most "alive" characters I have ever seen. You got everything, you have the sassy one and the cocky one. As they say, having a child changes you. Well the characters change depending on what is happening. Another thing I like is the "classless" system. It really makes you feel like you are normal child and not the son of Endrick. The combat is the same as every other though. Dragon Quest 7 should be the very first Dragon Quest game someone should play. I did feel a little over whelmed when I first saw how mnay sections of the game there was but I over came that. Dragon Quest 8 still holds a place in my heart, but Dragon Quest 7 showed me what Dragon Quest has to offer.

Can someone better explain the Slime Time Slots game in DQ:XI?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2020 07:42 PM PST

I know there's literally a "tutorial" thing in the game but despite looking at it and playing the game, I'm still very confused by it. I know how to play slots and I can keep playing the game but often I'm left scratching my head on how to better play it. I know it's luck based, I mean it's slots, but there seems to be some strategy to it as well that I just can't wrap my head around. Like when I think I'm doing good, I end up doing poorly, and so on.

So are there any guides or videos for this mini-game that better explain it?

I have a question about Dragon Quest 3 and the Golden Claw.

    Posted: 01 Feb 2020 03:37 PM PST

Hello, whoever you are. I hope that this post finds you at a good time.

I'm in the process of playing Dragon Quest 3 on my Nintendo Switch with just the Hero. My next stop is the Pyramid. I know that the Golden Claw is in the lower area of the Pyramid and I also know that if you take it, the monsters aren't going to react kindly to that.

Let's suppose I take it and then, I sell it. Does that "curse" stay within the Pyramid or will it follow me as I explore the overworld?
