Just played my first DQ game, Dragon Quest 11.. Posted: 05 Mar 2020 07:53 PM PST Honestly one of the best games I have ever played. Really piqued my interest in this series and I cant believe I went my whole life without playing these games! Reading through this sub it looks like DQVIII is another great one to play and might be the next one that I pick up. I do have one question for you all though. I am not a huge fan of the look and feel of OLD games such as 1-3 so do you guys think it would even be worth my time to pick them up? I have major FOMO but I dont think they would keep my interest. Is it worth me grinding through them just for the experience? Are the stories really good where I would be doing myself a disservice by not trying them? Thanks ahead of time! Excited to be in this community! Edit: spelling... thanks! u/exoticcommunication [link] [comments]

Which Weapons are best for each character? Posted: 06 Mar 2020 06:33 AM PST Just got a switch for the sole purpose of playing DQ 11, but not super keen on this versions skill point system - trying now to understand which weapons are worth investing in for my current characters. About to do some serious grinding to upgrade their gear and want to know I'm putting my gold and skill points in the right places if anyone can help? no spoilers please Current set up -> Hero - Sword Erik - Knive Veronica - heavy wand Serena - spear Sylvando - sword [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Mar 2020 05:42 AM PST With the release of DQS globally, and it doing extremely well, what does everyone think about it effecting DQ Walk coming out in the US? I believe this will hopefully sway them to bring it over here much quicker than Stars. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Mar 2020 05:23 AM PST I've been heavily thinking of selling off my collection since they're more of dust collectors and I'll never play them(via no console or handheld). Also wouldnt mind paying off some of the bills. So does anyone know of a better place other than ebay that charges you to post? I mean I would be ok with ebay if I knew they would sell within the allotted time without having to repost. [link] [comments]
Just watched "Your Story." I had a good time! Posted: 06 Mar 2020 01:30 AM PST I have to be honest. I tried watching this movie before. Suffice it to say, I just couldn't bring myself to finish it the first time through. I gave it another try, though. This time I let go of my preconceptions of what a DQ V adaptation should be. I think because of that I had a much better time with this movie. It was fun! The ending twist, though admittedly cringey on a conceptual level, is also a bonkers creative choice and it definitely showed guts on the part of the staff for them to try something like that on something as big as dragon quest. The actions scenes are a lot of fun too. The whole movie, in general, feels like creative chaos. It's this colorful, trippy ride with great cg and animation, and some exciting battle scenes. 1988, the Bunicorn and Star Trek: Picard Posted: 05 Mar 2020 10:10 PM PST As a gamer who's enjoyed the Dragon Quest series since I gave the original games a try via emulation and enjoyed them a lot, and as a fan of science fiction who was been enjoying the new Star Trek series (even if it's very different from classic and 90's Trek), I was surprised to see a Bunicorn in today's episode of Picard. The writers of the episode must have been Dragon Quest fans! This led me to wondering if the Bunicorn was indeed exclusive to Dragon Quest until now or if they existed in some mythological tome somewhere prior to their introduction to the series in 1988. Anyone know? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Mar 2020 04:42 PM PST I'm curious to know what people use for names and if they use the same name for every installment in the series. I always name my hero Loto since the first game I played in the series was the GBC reboots of the Erdrick trilogy, and it just became habit from there. Occasionally I'll name my hero Terry, because he's my favorite character, and dragon quest 6 and the original monsters are my favorite games in the series. [link] [comments]

Question about Hero skill tree- DQ XI- potential spoilers Posted: 05 Mar 2020 06:27 PM PST DQ XI is my first DQ game, and I absolutely love it. I am almost done with the postgame, and thus, my Hero skill tree is almost complete. I used great swords for a while throughout the game, but now I am exploring swords. In the greatsword side of sword mastery, there is "counter after block/parry". This is a pretty cool element, as it allows a tank build that also does offense when successful. However, whenever I use a normal sword, it doesn't counter after a block/parry, only with greatswords. Does this ability not work with normal swords, or is the RNG against me? [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Mar 2020 10:16 PM PST Sooo, since I've been playing DQX for a while, I've been really enjoying it, but I get stuck a lot and can't really ask for help or hang out with anyone since I don't speak Japanese at all (although, I'd love to learn it) and I don't know anyone who plays it, nor do I know of a Discord for this game. Just started Dragon Quest of the Stars Posted: 05 Mar 2020 06:26 PM PST Long time listener, first time caller. I am loving this game! I'm usually not a fan of mobile games like this either. I don't know if it's because it's from a series I like or not, but I'm having a lot of fun with it! I just finished chapter 2. I'm really loving Gaius! [link] [comments]
DQ3 Switch help: When does mage learn BiKill/TwinKill? Posted: 05 Mar 2020 03:34 PM PST Title basically. In the older versions and remakes it was 21, but my mage is 23 now and still hasn't learned it. Googling has given me nothing. Anyone know? Thanks! [link] [comments]
New to Dragon Quest, should I buy the first one? Posted: 05 Mar 2020 03:04 PM PST I never played any DQ game and I want to play the 11th but I'm not able to buy it now. On the Switch there are also the first 3 DQ games, should I buy the first one or is it a bad game? [link] [comments] |
