    When I played this game the first time in regular mode, I never bothered with these things, or any other single-use items, really. Battles, even boss battles, could be pretty effectively won just by spamming "fight" over and over again and letting the AI do its thing. Maybe a little leveling would be needed sometimes, but for the most part, "strategy" was completely unnecessary. Also, I'm accustomed to negative status effect spells and such (other than maybe sap) being utterly useless in boss battles.

    But I'm playing again with hard enemies, and was having difficulty with the two gryphons at the Kingsbarrow. I tried something, failed, leveled a bit. Tried something else, failed, leveled a bit. Finally, I decided to try to use sleeping hibiscus and have Eric do "Persecutter". I was amazed by the fact that the hibiscus just plain worked. Sleeper Hit hardly ever worked.

    I wonder how an ordinary "sleep" spell would work on these guys? I'm accustomed to that spell pretty much only working in circumstances where I don't actually need it.

    Was there a coup after Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime?

    I just starter Rocket Slime 3 and the main hero is now the prince and the King And Queen are now his parents. I remeber the Second game there was already a King and a Princess. Your parents were a warrior and a witch. What happened?

    DQ11 Act 3 Spoiler

    Hey I'm about a couple of hours into Act 3 of DQ11 and feel very frustrated. Hoping there's something I'm missing or wrong about so I don't quit or start disliking a game I liked so much.

    Do we never go back to the main storyline timeline? If we never go back, then what was the point of doing it at all? The character progression is lost and the entire storyline was a waste of time because it never happened anyway. All of the personal growth the characters went through never happened and meant nothing. It all feels so cheap and frustrating to me.

    I'm hoping someone can tell me that there's some twist or something that sends us back or makes anything that happened in Act 2 mean anything in anyway. I don't need to know what happens, I just want to know if I should keep slogging through this new storyline that I really don't like.

    Spoiler alert! I'm starting the postgame and I noticed that I can craft a "Nebular sword" I think it was called (I have the game in spanish) and after failing awfully in the forging process I saw that It can't be improved with perfection pearls, so I reloaded the game and now I came to ask if it is impossible to improve it at any point, It's worth to keep trying to get the +3? And if it's posible to craft it again? Also if you have any kind list of weapons that are in the game I would love to see it.

    i'm very frustrated with the octagonia casino jackpot quest and i just want to move on and do it later. i'm at the fortress of fear right now, can i go back to act 2 quests after reaching the post game?

    can someone please give me any advice on how to get that stupid jackpot??? i've tried the 12-14 method, betting on all numbers, and waiting for the jackpot bunny to say she has a feeling someone will win, but nothing's working. this is my last act 2 quest and i just want it to be over :(

    I have started DQ1 and I am beyond confused, I knew this game was confusing but wow

    I am currently level 12, I have no idea what I'm doing. I've been to every town and talked to every person except for the town in the bottom center of the map, which I haven't gotten to yet. Right now, I have the warrior's ring, which I found in a cave, and the mark of erdrick, which I found on the ground on the world map, as well as armor and weapons and stuff. I haven't beat any bosses or anything, and I've only been playing for like 2 or 3 hours. Please help! I have no idea what to do, it seems like I've done both everything and nothing at the same time.

    Spec guide for different points in the game (DQX1)

    I'm playing the Switch version of DQXI and loving it. I'm trying to avoid a lot of spoilers and have no idea what act I'm on. I recently got Sylvando back in my party and met the Seer and am now at Warrior's Rest

    I read something when I started about the luminary playing best with great swords early game, Eric best with daggers, Rab with staff, Sylvando has a sword and shield.

    At this point in the game, or any time forward, is there a good guide for doing your specs more effectively?
