    Stupid question about Dragon Quest XI on PC.

    So how do I leave the game? I'm using a logitech gamepad. When I get done for the day. I save in a church and choose not to continue then it just goes to the Starting screen and every button I hit tries to continue the game. I had to Alt-Control-Del to get out of the game. Any help would be awesome!!

    Before reading ahead this may contain spoilers . . . . . . . . But in DG11 after finding out he was kidnapping people and feeding them to the monster for boosts was terrible and afterwards they let him off with a "it's okay we all make bad choices" dude literally had like 14 dead bodies

    After being introduced to Dragon Quest through Smash and watching an overview of DQ11 S, I'm interested in starting the series. Where should I start? It seems like every source I read has a different answer. Also, how difficult are these games? My favorite RPG series are Pokemon(varying difficulty) and Shin Megami Tensei(known for its difficulty). If you guys have played both of those series, how does Dragon Quest compare to them? Thanks in advance for any help!

    DQXI: Casino Jackpot quest hell?

    In act 2. Got the side quest whete i need to get a jackpot on roulette.Bunny girl gave me the affirmative that someone would win soon, played the wheel with like 2k tokens, bet on 12 and 14.... ran out of tokens... played black and red....for almost 7 hours.....and no jackpot. Only have 5g left.

    What in the name of the Luminary am I missing here?
    Do I just save all casino stuff until postgame when I have a lot of gold? Im so defeated by this whole experience....

    what is the deal with the evil tockle? where did it come from? why does it seek to free calasmos? why did it blow up the castle at the start of the game? just... anything about it, really.

    Game recommendations after VIII?

    So I just finished DQVIII, my first ever Dragon Quest game and I absolutely loved it! (played it on the 3DS with some mods to decensor stuff and get the orchestral soundtrack). I managed to beat the final boss in 60 hours and then beat the post game for a grand total of 73 hours (I expected this game to be long, but not this long xD)

    I liked the story, it was simple but I got really invested in it. I think the reason for that is that I really cared for the characters in my party, unlike in other RPGs I've played.

    After beating the game I got even more interested in the Dragon Quest franchise and I'm looking for another DQ with a good story. After reading a bunch of similar posts, I'm leaning toward IV, V and XI, but I had some questions.

    1. I heard that IV, V and VI are a trilogy so, do you have to play all 3 games to get the plot or are the plots independent? I've tried to avoid all info related to the plot in hopes of avoiding every spoiler possible. Also, I kinda want a shorter game, but if I have to play all 3 then maybe they add up to even more hours than DQVIII.
    2. Is any of the games grind-heavy? I had to grind in DQVIII but it didn't feel too bad since there were metal slimes in various points in the game, so I was overleveled for most of the story.
    3. I saw that XI has a "Definitive Edition" that has extra content, but it is only in the Switch (I think). Is this content worth it? I've been on the fence about buying a Switch and maybe this could push me to do it, but I'm mainly a PC player. If the content is not that worth it or the performance is way lower, then maybe I'll wait in hopes of getting that content in PC.

    Sorry about the long post, but I would appreciate some opinions and input to decide. Thanks!

    kinda running our of patience for stronger monsters as i approach the end of the post game (spoilers)

    i very much enjoyed the challenge going through the game, but as my characters are approaching lvl 90, with the best gear all at +3, i see a cieling to the power my characters can reach that is short of what would be needed. the final (not secret) challenge at angi-la seems acheiveable, though the turn limit is a hard wall still. same with the trial round 5. which is pretty much all i have left.

    kinda wanna turn off the stronger monsters because at this point it is starter to just feel cheap. not sure grinding out the last 10 levels will make that much of a difference, but i also dont want to turn the game into a sudden pushover after struggling, and enjoying the struggle, to this point. honestly, it is the turn limits that are pissing me off the most.

    if i disable it now, will the last content still be something of a challenge? or might the last ten levels make enough of a difference to overcome these last challenges?

    edit - turned off stronger monsters, and it was far too easy. took out the trial dude in 3/5s of the turns allowed. beat the finale angi-la challenge first try, and calasmos took about seven turns. gonna go back to my save from before and grind out those last ten levels, and mebbe farm a few seeds if that isnt enough.
