Posted: 26 Aug 2020 09:57 AM PDT So for the "best versions" of the games I was thinking, SNES - DQ1 - best GBC - DQ2 due to bug in SNES version GBC - DQ3 - get all the monster medals (YES im crazy) NES - DQ4 - I have DS but should I haven't played the nes version SNES DQ5 - get a metal slime/metabble (I think you can in this version if not then …) ?Try an all monster team. SNES DQ6 - glitches galore Maybe ill post when I finish them. [link] [comments]
Mods to replace the DQ11 soundtrack? (not the orchestral version) Posted: 26 Aug 2020 09:51 AM PDT Hello, I'm playing the DQ11 demo on Switch rn (first dragon quest game and enjoying it so far) but I find the soundtrack to be really glaring and in your face all the time and is detracting from my enjoyment of the game. I'm considering playing with the music super low or off entirely and having just the atmospheric noises, but I wanted to know if anyone knows of any mods for the PC version that change/improve the soundtrack (not the one that gives you the orchestral music, but something that actually changes or replaces the pieces themselves). Thanks. [link] [comments]

Does DQ3 on SNES have a different spell table? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 07:33 PM PDT Let me clarify since I couldn't find good wording for the title. I started playing the SNES version of DQ3 (the english patch released by DQTranslations) and for some reason my mage doesn't seem to be getting the correct spells when he is supposed to, for example my mage is currently level 12 and has yet to learn bang, however, everywhere I look claims that he should've learnt it at level 11. Is this because I'm playing the SNES version? or maybe because it's technically the japanese version? if so can anybody tell me where to find the correct information for my version of the game? TL;DR: My mage isn't learning the spells he is supposed to be learning according to the internet, why? [link] [comments]
Why do they pretend to give you dialogue options? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 02:34 PM PDT So I've been playing Dragon Quest XI (my frost experience with a DQ game) and I'm really enjoying it but they keep giving me options in dialogue to say "yes" or "no" to something but it's not really a choice because if you pick the wrong answer they just ask you the question again until you answer the way they want you to. Why the hell do they even give you an option of only one choice is acceptable? Why not just do away with the choice all together and just assume your character says yes? Is this something that is in all the games? It's such a minor thing but it really bugs the hell out of me. [link] [comments]

Should I continue with XI or try another? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 11:17 AM PDT So I picked up Dragon Quest XI and started playing it wanting it to be my first real dive into the series. And I've been playing it for a while having reached the desert boss of The Celestial Sands. BUT ITS BEEN SO SLOOOOW. Due to this I've been feeling burnt out a bit and have been considering putting the game on hold for a while and play some other Dragon Quest game. Then remembered the first game I tried in the series and what made me love jrpgs; Dragon Quest IX. I had gotten the game when I was a kid and played back then, though like XI never got too far into the game (black knight was a major roadblock for me). So here's my problem. Should I keep going with XI in order to reach whatever area the story really starts? Or should I put the game on hold and play IX instead? [link] [comments]

Can someone help me find a game? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 06:26 PM PDT I remember playing a game when I was younger that I now know is of the dragon quest series. I dont remember doing much cos I was too young to be a video game expert but i remember being in a room with a little slime guy that kept saying things like "sluurrrp" and "squelch" and other strange phrases. I dont remember but he might have been following me down some paths. I think it might've been on a game boy or a came cube. I know this is a very vague description but this game has been in my head for like 18 years now. I recently got into playing dragon quest games and I noticed that the little blue guy was the same guy from my memory. I started with IX so ik it's not that one then I played 5-7 and I dont believe it is either of them. [link] [comments] |
