    Did DQ11 retcon the timeline?

    So I just finished DQ11 and I found something interesting.

    So for years now people believed the chronological order of games was DQ3 -> DQ1 -> DQ2 -> ???

    However the game splits into 3 timelines seemingly. One where Veronica died, the other were the Hero defeats Calasmos and the other one were Erdwin defeats Calasmos.

    So we first see at the end of Hero's journey when he's given the title of Erdrick and right after we cut ahead to the future to see the Hero from DQ1 picking up the Super Sword of Light.

    Latter after we see Serenica going back in time, a descendant of sorts placing down books and waking up the Hero from DQ3.

    Does this mean DQ1 and DQ3 no longer happen within the same timeline? Basically:

    Timeline 1: DQ11 (Veronica dead) -> ???

    Timeline 2: DQ11 (Hero back in time) -> DQ1

    Timeline 3: DQ11 (Serenica back in time) -> DQ3

    DQXI: Hallelujah/Electro Light EXP Farming Help

    I've read a few guides on how to do this method, I'm currently in mid-60 levels on everyone, but every time I try to do this method, at least one party member loses pep before I can actually do the method. Is there any way to ensure pep isn't lost? Should I put pepped up party members in standby once they're pepped?

    The drop rate on EVERYTHING has gone up so much. I've gotten fights that ended with THREE CHESTS. THREE.

    I'm spoiled now. If they don't give a similar method of getting drop rates up in the next DQ, I'ma cry tears of blood (1/256? ;w;).

    I just started Dragon Quest III on my Android and it begins with all those personality questions. I love personality tests, but man... The game figured me out completely.

    It said I'm the type of person who thinks everything is faded to go into failure and that I blame others for my lack of enthusiasm.

    I mean, that's exactly how I've been feeling these past months. I'm unemployed, it has been hard to find a job and I've started to doubt my own skills. Specially because I have little experience. So my enthusiasm to try something new have been dropping significantly.

    I've been playing a lot these last weeks to try to avoid anxious thoughts about those stuff and let to deal with those issues when I feel I can handle them without freaking out. Like when the vaccine comes out, maybe.

    But then the game comes and say (with those exact words) that I need to be more active... to be more alive...

    So I saved the game the first instant I got in control of my character, closed it and now I'm reflexive. When a game gives you a scolding it's time to rethink things through. Hahah

    I'll play it to the end. Now I'm curious if there is more insightful thinks like that. But I'll also try to face my fears and start to look for a job again. I'll keep those words of the game in mind.

    Hopefully, in the near future I'll take those questions again and discover myself as a more positive person.

    I... can't stand them! The accents I hate them! Downvote me to oblivion if you must, but even as I love the games, the corniness in the localization is killing me. Are the Japanese language versions as cornball? I might be in the minority, and I hope that is true, because the games are amazing, but I just grit my teeth at every town name, and every apostrophed to hell line of dialogue. It is like reading trainspotting all over again. Sorry to be a raincloud. In chapter 4 of DQ IV, and really enjoying the groove.

    Which spell names do you like more? The older ones, or the modern ones?

    I'm personally a fan of the newer names because they more clearly convey the effects of the spells, but I've seen a lot of very outspoken support for the older localized spell names. So I wanted to ask, do you prefer the older names (blaze, upper, etc.) or the newer names, (frizz, buff, etc.)? I'd also love to hear your reasons!

    I need help with this fight

    So I'm fighting "dark" jasper idk what exactly to call him but it's post game at heiodor castle where you have to fight him alone as Hendrick and Idk if it's even possible cause I use up all his mp on healing and attack him so much but he's not even half hp by the time I can't heal anymore and I'm super low so is this fight possible to win and if so could I have some tips

    (I use axe and shield)

    So far, this game has been kinda meh.

    The story, the gameplay, is all kinda meh.

    Im at the part where the mermaid dies, and i felt next to nothing.

    Does the story pick up at all? Its kinda grindy in some parts too, so does that get better?

    DQ6 IOS Quiet Sound Effects

    I just got done playing DQ4 IOS and started DQ6 IOS, and Jesus, what happened to the sound mix? The music is really loud unless you turn it down and the sound effects are extremely quiet even at the max setting. The only sound effect which seem to be at its normal volume is the end-of-battle jingle, which feels jarringly loud since everything else is so quiet.

    Is there any way to fix this or am I just going to have to live with quiet sound effects for the rest of the game?

    Kalasmos is impossible. My entire party is at level 99 and I can't beat him, I always reach the part where his hp is at yellow help but then he massacres my team.

    what is there left to do in dq11 after i finish the postgame?

    After beating the final FINAL boss, i find myself kind of lost on what i want to do next with this game. I absolutely loved it and everything it had to offer but I don't know what else i can do besides gamble my life away.     I've been searching for that sound effect for days, every site I scrounge has every sound effect except for heal. I am at my wits end, I just want it to be my text tone, please anyone if you have it send it my way.

    P.S. I would prefer the modern heal sound, like from DQ7 and beyond, thanks.
