We need a localization for Dragon Quest XI 3DS Posted: 08 Oct 2020 09:19 AM PDT This may be impossible at this point, because DQXI has been released for Switch, and it's been more than three years after the original PS4 and 3DS version, but the 3DS has so much charm, that reminds me of DQIX, and idk, I think it should be localized, idk what you guys think [link] [comments]

Hello, DQ Newcomer here! Pls send help Posted: 08 Oct 2020 04:51 AM PDT I'm playing the DQ 11 Demo on Switch and I'm hoping for tips from you. I never played a JRPG before and thought its a good idea to do the first steps in one of the most beloved JRPG franchises out there (or thats what I heard). Actually it's smash ultimate that gave me the idea (thats working out for nintendo). First impression: The look of the cutscenes blew my mind. I enjoyed the intro sooo much and it did the job of making me excited for more. Then in-game ... hmm it looks okay. Artstyle is great and all but the antialiasing makes the game so heavily blurry that the designs really suffer from it. At times I can't make out the eyes of a monser or character. I would have much preferred less or even no antialiasing, with Zelda Breath of the Wild we see that it can work out for aesthetics. Now what is important to me is to know how good the demo is with giving me an interesting story premise and how well I can work with that as a newcomer. Is already someone itching to comment that I need to stick with it until chapter XX? As for gameplay eg I dont understand why I can jump but not hold to edges to explore that first cave after the first slime battle. Also what purpose does moving in combat serve? It feels a bit weird for a turn based system to enable me to move around and attack from a menu. How important is exploration? Can I stick with the story for the first hours to keep the pacing going? How much should I venture from the beaten paths and what am I missing if I don't? Also in games I prefer to manage only my main protagonist without having to keep in mind abilities and HP of companions, will I be able to leave party members back? At first I wanted to go in as naive as possible and find my own rythm but now I think it's better to get some help as this is a big game with a long history. Thank you for staying with me. Should I get Dragon Quest Heroes I and II on Steam? Posted: 08 Oct 2020 03:41 AM PDT Title. I see a lot of mixed reviews and I am not really sure if I should get them. What do you guys think? [link] [comments]
Marriage in DQ5 feels so unfair Posted: 07 Oct 2020 02:54 PM PDT I'm at the part where you can choose your bride and the game almost forces you to go with Bianca. She's the protagonist's friend since childhood, you play with her when she grows up and she's clearly sad about your marriage, damn, she's awake the night before marriage because he keep thinking about it. She's the least interesting to me and I don't want to marry her, but I feel so bad for her. There's Nera, who I like her personality the most but it feels like I'm marrying her for the shield. There's also her friend who fell in lava trying to marry her, ngl I'm feeling worse for him than for Bianca. Please tell me this guy gets a happy ending even if I marry Nera... Debora is pretty neutral, probably because she was only added in the DS version, I suppose? Might get her, she's funny. I wish we could hang out with Nera and Debora before this, getting to know these two more, also adding some sad reactions to them in the night before the marriage. [link] [comments]
Which game to recommend to an 11 year old nephew? Posted: 07 Oct 2020 05:08 PM PDT I found DQ in jr high at 13/14 and have loved it since: My nephew is now turning 11, has a switch. Thinking of recommending DQ because he likes a challenge in games. Any parents, aunts/uncles with recommendations for which one? [link] [comments]

DQ 3 characters in recent Dai anime? Posted: 07 Oct 2020 05:44 PM PDT So I was watching the first episode of the recent Dai anime and I noticed the heroes in that episode look extremely similar to some from DQ 3. Are they the same people? [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Oct 2020 05:41 PM PDT Ok so today I got my RetroUSB AVS in the mail and I put in my Dragon Quest Famicom cart in and for some reason whenever I try to the load my game with a restoration spell it doesn't work.

Posted: 07 Oct 2020 08:51 PM PDT So yeah, as the title states, I would like to know if the free mobile DQ game is worth a shot or if o should get one of the cheap ones to start off. [link] [comments]
[DQXI] Do I have to search towns from head to toe? Posted: 07 Oct 2020 04:27 PM PDT I visit JRPGs once in a while. I just started DX11 yesterday, I'm very excited to play this game. Before I continue any further in DQ11, is this a game where I'll need to either (a) use a "missable items" guide or (b) button-mash A the moment I enter a new town? The game feels so massive and I don't think I'll have fun needing to look at everything. The issue I have with JRPGs is that there are often items hidden in the environment in places that aren't marked. Sometimes these seemingly-useless items later become ingredients for other items that are strong. If there's a treasure box that flashes in my periphery, I understand that I should get to that tricky location and open it. It's likely that there's a significant reward in the box that'll help my journey. If it's something like a random HP-healing berry stashed away in a bed in some random house, it makes me feel like I have to spam the A-button while walking into the surface of every single wall, bookcase, closet, whatever, so that I don't miss anything that might be important. Thanks in advance y'all [link] [comments] |
