    DQXI definitive pc - is there an alternative to the more music variety mod?

    honestly, the music in dq xi is the one thing i dont like, and i found a mod that adds 'more music variety' but i didnt much like their selection either (especially combat music), and was just wondering if anyone had an alternative to that one for a mod to change up the music some

    Is it possible to play dragon quest IX online with an emulator?

    What I mean is not use the actual wi-fi mode, since I know that's not up and running, but.. Here me out.

    I recently used the Dolphin emulator to play Tatsunoko vs Capcom with a friend online. The way that works is that it uses the local multiplayer, with one player using Player 1 controls, and the second player, on another computer, uses the player 2 controls in the same game. It was a great experience, barely lagged at all, and it made me think about what other games you could play like this.

    I was thinking, if I could play DQ9 online with my friends, then that would be amazing. I know the game has a local multiplayer option, so I'm wondering if that is maybe possible to get working connecting to another person online? And if so, where would I look to get this working?

    Will it mess with the game if I get the purple orb early?

    I played the game on the ps4 and decided to buy the game again on steam. I activated the console commands and gave myself the magic and ultimate keys at the very beginning as well as some starting weapons and costume armor, (Dundarasil and dragon slayer swords for those who care) and bumped my level to 99. Been playing it off and on up to the region with the purple orb, got a few CTDs once I picked costumes the were acceptable to the game for that point of the game (hotto stuff and Zelda colored equipment) the game stopped crashing. So forgetting that the purple orb was in the ruins in a chest I picked it up. Should I go back a save and skip it an go back after earning the magic key or will it be fine. Once I got it I saved in a different spot, my previous save is just before fighting Jasper for the first time. Just curious if it will affect the game in any way. I've done this on DQ8 on the 3DS and it was fine, just wondering if different games have different mechanics.

    Again I have played DQ11 already without cheating so making the game easier on a second playthrough won't ruin it for me and I have been drawing boss fights out on purpose in case there could be a problem as new games are pretty finicky about expected battle length and that stuff for some reason.

    I think that this would be the perfect game to be randomised. Items, enemies, skills, spells, weapon affinities etc!

    The Luminary’s name as a Cobblestonian could be...

    (I'm sorry if I'm not the first person to make this association!) I recently learned that all the characters from Heliodor and Cobblestone were named after rocks, minerals and gemstones. So, it makes sense they would name him as one of their own and Flintstone is abundant in the region, as well as being touted as a mineral with spiritually strong energies and related to courage/confidence, protection and awakening of inner potential. It's also used to create sparks and fire, which as we all know, are associated with being the Hero's elemental powers.

    I fucked up on the final boss

    Recently finished Dragon quest 11 its my first DQ game, wanted to try it out cause it was on game pass. Had a lot of fun, didn't find any of the bosses to hard even Moredegon I did first try. But then I fight calasmos. Jesus Christ this guy is too powerful, killing my party in 2 hits and gets 3 turns to attack, and no matter how I buff my party or debuff him I just can't beat him, even at lvl 99. Eventually I did it though, had to use kerplunk on both Hendrick and Serena but I did it.

    Then I watch a speedrun of the game too see how they beat calasmos... they use the sword of light as an item to weaken him. Oh. Well that would have been nice to know. I feel real stupid now. This is one of those times I hate myself for going into the game completely blind. If I had just heard one whisper somewhere on the internet that you use the sword of light as an item to weaken the final boss, I could've avoided a lot of frustration.

    Anyone else make the same mistake?
