    I've been lucky to enjoy this game in the series concurrently with the anime the Adventure of Dai. The stories overall are well crafted and carry a sense of curiosity of the future plot. My one question is where does the Adventure of Dai land in the series in relation to DragonQuest 11; to give context...?

    And I am in love. Just unlocked the whale. Jesus christ this is a good game. Definitly one of the best games I ever played. That moment with Veronica hit me pretty hard. The fact that you walk through the world before it gets fd gives great motivation to go through the story. I was more of a Final Fantasy guy before but this game made me a believer. hallelujah.

    Dragon Quest XI story question - potential plothole - returning player

    Hello everyone.

    I just booted up DQ11 after a long break (couple years), and hit Sniflheim after the hero's defeat at world tree, with the golden iceberg blocking the path, Eric not having memories, golden plague and all. There's one thing that's bothering me to no end.

    At this moment, Eric is being recognized in Sniflheim as one of the Vikings who used to stay there earlier. Could someone remind me where was Eric during our first trip to Sniflheim and battle against Krystalinda? If he was with the party, doesn't that create a plothole that someone should've recognized him earlier? I know that's just a little tidbit of lore, but it is bothering me a lot.

    I have Only lost all party members once and it was when I only had Hero and Erik, does the game get any more difficult did not even lose a party member to the ice queen lady. Just would like a little more strategy instead of just powering through enemies

    What makes Dragon Quest 8 stand out?

    Title. I've played 1, 2, 3, and 11. Not a huge fan of 11 not bad just not engaging like the first 3. My love for 3 has made me interested in 9. I keep hearing about 8 though. I like the idea of a 3D DQ with random encounters, the overworld monsters were kind of what turned me off from 11. What else does 8 offer though? Which DQ game would you say is most similar to it? And I hate to be so judgmental but how much of the love would you say stems from nastalgia of it being people first 3D DQ or DQ in general?

    Was watching 30th anniversary documentary, and a fan in the audience listening to the main theme removed his glasses and sheds some tears really emotional to see.
