    What are the best versions of Dragon Quest 5, 7 and 8

    Nearing the end of Dragon Quest XI. Fell in love with it and am looking for where to go next. I've decided to try either 5, 7 or 8, and I'm wondering which versions of each are the best.

    For 5, I'm deciding between the original and the PS2 remake with an english patch. Leaning towards the remake but I dont know how good the fan translation is compared to the original.

    For 7, I'm leaning towards the PSX version. Mainly because I love long games and I saw that the 3DS version has 30 or so hours less on HLTB.

    For 8, leaning towards the PS2 version because it looks a bit better from what I've seen.

    I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks

    Dragon Quest 11 improves on quite a bit from Dragon Quest 8 in every sense. And yet...

    Easier forging system (thank you DQ9), the menu is much improved (though still not perfect, item management is garbage still), some great tweaks in battles like remembering your last used spell inbetween battles, a much better skill point system (though DQ9's is different and also good) - it's just extremely polished.

    But DQ8 has something over DQ11, at least in the West. I love the orchestrated music, was it just a CD of music that they added into the game? It does not sound like it was composed for a video game. DQ11's music is also orchestrated and extremely pretty, but it sounds polished, like it's meant to be game music. DQ8 has all kinds of crazy instruments and pauses and it just sounds wonderful. It has a real warmth to it. The world map is also huge. I mean, I think DQ11 is bigger, but there isn't that much to exploring outside of shiny spots (thank you DQ9). DQ8's world map is just insane!! The random encounters hurt a lot, but I do appreciate the monster fighting side bit. And the graphics!! DQ11 is a super polished, super gorgeous game. It goes all out on delivering next-gen beautiful graphics. But, they're very polished. DQ8's graphical designs are focused on distant views from in towns, really making the towns feel part of the world. It really drives home those distant views, something DQ11 doesn't do for some reason. The graphics are also gorgeous, I mean they are clearly low poly, but they still hold up next to DQ11. The game does not look out of place next to DQ11. I just love the design and the graphics. This was the transition to 3D and it was seamless. Everything is a bit delightfully chunky. Some environments are really bare bones, but you can pick up and break multiple objects!! And search more things!!

    DQ8 just really makes me smile. Don't get me wrong I love DQ11 and I hope DQ12 is not 11 years away. But damn, DQ8, what a game. I hope there are more lessons to learn from it to come.

    So yeah, is krystalinda supposed to be this easy after the hellish of a fight Dora was? Im just impressed how fast this one was and I didn't even need to use more than 3 healing spells

    What DQ game do you recommend for me to play next?

    I played DQ 11 on switch and fell in love, and then because I had watched the Dragon Quest: Your Story movie a few years back on Netflix, I got DQ5 on the App Store and it's been so much fun!

    Any other recommendations? Should I just keep going numerically forward with 6, or is there another entry y'all recommend I try out?

    How to I switch weapons mid battle ? In dragon quest 11 for the switch ?

    In battle, when I open items and click on a different weapon, it says that this item cannot be used in battle and when I open tactics, there's no equipment option for me to equip a different weapon

    DQ11 S saved Gamed Data on two PS5 consoles

    Hi,

    I have PS Plus and two PS5 which I bought digitally and installed DQ11 on both consoles but it doesn't show the game saved data when installed on second PS5. Any reason for this?

    I am signed into same account on each PS5.
