I just beat G-rank in the arena, and recruited Hackzilla and Brickman. But what are the best monsters I can find by Ttodain? I want to progress with finding a Liquid Metal slime, too, for easy exp.

Should I start a new file mode in Draconian Mode?

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 10:27 AM PDT

I'm playing DQ 11, first DQ game ever, and I finished the fight with Dora the Grey. I'm around level 30 with the party and feel a bit overleved. I'm mostly trying to explore and discover stuff but I do feel the game has gotten easy. I definitely plan to try draconian mode right after I finish the story, however I'm tempted to just restart everything now. Not having as much fun breezing through locations

    I’m lost in the battleground.

I'm sorry I can't give much information because I am extremely lost. I recently passed the campsite, and now I don't know where to go. I appeared back in the stairs room, and there is a door with a key, but I don't know how to access it. Any advice. Thanks!!

How to get pep powers on purpose?

So I'm wanting to grind using electro light and hallelujah and I'm wondering if there is a way to "provoke" the pep powers, if that makes any sense.

(series spoiler) what happend to the hero of 3 after ending?

    Posted: 17 Jul 2021 12:36 AM PDT

i am korean player. so certain words may not match english version. (ex. erdrick is called roto in korean version)

After receiving the title of erdrick, the hero went missing.

But if you look at the traces in 1, you can see that erdrick has prepared many things for his descendants. What did the erdrick do after that?

in my opinion, there is three hypotheses.

    1. Erdrik hid his identity for normal life, and settled in Alefgard, leaving behind his descendants in preparation for Zoma's prophecy(Someone appears from the dark, but you'll be dead old.)

    2. After the ending, he turns back time in some way(similar to a save file load in the game), such as 11(i think erdrea is pangea of 3's overworld) The experience of receiving erdrick's title remains in his soul, so he goes to see Shenlong. Ortega is revived, but he chooses to be trapped in Alefgard because he has to take down Zoma. But it would be comforting for him that his mother would not be left alone.

    3. Rubiss would have sent him back. In the ending without the hero, Rubiss warps him before the king of radatom. This is a gag ending, but it shows that she can send the him back up. This could happen after the second hypothesis, or he could have gone to see Shenlong after the third hypothesis.

He may have formed a family with the Alefgard people before the returning, then gone alone or together, or he could have formed a family after returning. This makes it possible that the hero of 1 is unknown where he came from. He could have come from above world.

    what do you think?

Dragon Quest III on Switch now, or remake later?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 11:00 AM PDT

    Hello all!

I am new to Dragon Quest and have made the decision to play all of the main series games in order. I finished DQ and am 3/4 of the way through DQII. I have been loving the games so far and I am not sure what to do now about DQIII. Originally I was just going to play the Switch version, but when I found out there is going to be a remake of it, I became unsure.

So my question is, should I continue my original plan and play DQIII on Switch, or skip III for now and play the remake when it comes out later?

EDIT: Thanks for the replies everyone! I think I have decided that I will play III now and then play again when the remake comes out. Seems most think this game to be much more replay-able than the first two.

Now I just need to figure out if I will still play on Switch, or find some way to get my hands on an SNES and the SNES version of Dragon Warrior III

What is your favorite classic Dragon Quest video game era?

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 08:20 PM PDT

For Dragon Quest games, I would say the best time to be a kid in the US would be 1989-1992 for Dragon Warrior 1-4 on the NES, although if I were a kid in Japan, I think 1992-1996 for Dragon Quest 1-3,5-6 would've been fun too.
