- My Hero finally has something to hunt
- Ran in to the creator of the English tools for DQX in game! They're only available on pc but totally worth it!
- Just saw this in an ad. What's it like? It doesn't look like it's been rating well...
- i think the added party member scenes in the beginning of act 2 in s version should have been optional
- Xcross Blade or Yūsha Avan to Gokuen no Maō scanlation?
- Same Names?
- What if Princes Faris was playable in Dragon Quest XI?
- Is it possible to go Max Tension in the final boss fight? (DQ8 spoilers)
- is the dai anime any good?
- I’m playing DQXI S. However…

Posted: 29 Sep 2021 04:11 AM PDT while i do think they are very cool, putting them in where they did kinda ruined a lot of suspense and surprise the original version had. waking up alone, not knowing where your friends are or if they're even alive was the atmosphere of the beginning of act 2. it also took too long to get us back to the protagonist. i think the best option would be for these to be optional scenes you unlock as you find each of the party members. this also wouldn't ruin the surprise of veronica dying to the people paying attention [link] [comments]
Xcross Blade or Yūsha Avan to Gokuen no Maō scanlation? Posted: 29 Sep 2021 03:45 AM PDT Hello, It's been some months (almost a year) since these two manga began publishin...Dragon Quest being as popular as it is and with the (successful?) remake of Dai no Daibouken's anime adaptation I find it really strange I can't find any scanlation of these two manga. Don't know about the story in Xross Blade, but Avan's adventures sure seem like it should be a good manga for DnD fans. I really find it strange no group has scanlated any of these two... or maybe it's just me not being able to search in the propper places? Does anyone know about these manga? Are they any good? Can't really find any info in english. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Sep 2021 05:46 AM PDT Looking into DQ names: NPCs, monsters, main characters, whoever. Would love to know some that share same names with other notable media. Exaples: DQM Joker has Batman's enemy & Persona 5 protagonist also named Joker. Know any others? [link] [comments]
What if Princes Faris was playable in Dragon Quest XI? Posted: 28 Sep 2021 04:31 PM PDT Hello! Welcome to part 3 of what has become a series, I've made two other posts like this, one for Gemma and one for Dave, and they were received so well I thought I'd continue. Link to payable Gemma post here, and playable Dave post here This is just a general outline for how I think a playable Faris would work in DQ11, please have a read and tell me what you think. I think would wield swords, axes, and hammers/maces as his weapons of choice and be able to equip great shields. Along with branches for his weapons, Faris's skill tree would have a branch for shield and his personal skills would be Regality. Faris would not learn the Dual Wield skill, as I think enough characters learn in and I don't think it would fit Faris's personality. But perhaps in Act 3 he could gain another branch to his skill tree called Bravery like Sylvando and Eight Party Member, and then be able to learn the Dual Wield skill, but I'm not 100% sure about that. As a playable character, Faris would primarily focus on protecting and assisting his allies, learning abilities that inflict negative status effects on foes when he attacks. One unique ability would be Taunt, where Faris can draw the ire of a group of enemies so they'll focus their attacks on him, and could later learn a more powerful version that draws the attention of all enemies. His offensive abilities would primarily focus on setting up his allies for massive damage, I had an idea for an ability that, when Faris hits an enemy with it, guarantees that the next attack to hit that enemy will be a critical hit. Another ability I had in mind was something called Shield Crush, an attack that scales off of Faris's defense. I don't think Faris would have much in the way of magic, just a few healing and buffing spells with no offensive or debuffing magic. Stat-wise, I think Faris would have a middling attack stat but have good agility and HP along with massive defense. This way, Faris can consistently active his protective abilities before the enemy attacks to protect your squishier characters like Erik and Veronica. For Pep Powers, the first I had in mind is called "Wild Ride" where Faris, the Luminary, and Sylvano pile on top of Faris's shield like it's a sled (kind of like how Link uses his shield in BotW) and hurtle themselves into a group of enemies. Next is "Peekaboo" where Faris charges at an enemy with his shield and at the last second Erik jumps out from behind the shield and goes straight for the enemy's head. The final Pep Power I have in mind is called "Grand Fortress" where Serena and Veronica enchant Faris's shield and makes the entire party immune to all damage for the next few turns, but they are still susceptible to debuffs and status effects. That's all I've got, tell me what you think. [link] [comments]
Is it possible to go Max Tension in the final boss fight? (DQ8 spoilers) Posted: 28 Sep 2021 04:05 PM PDT I am fighting the final boss Rhapthorne now. Yangus kept doing a Psyche Up every turn, no max tension. The hell? Is it not possible in this fight? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Sep 2021 02:41 PM PDT i'm not /massively/ into basic shounens, but i could always watch the dub in the background. i am however a massive dragon quest fan so hearing them say spell names will probably make me go :). whats the general consensus on this anime, i don't hear it talked about often [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Sep 2021 03:43 PM PDT I still have not finished post game due to uncertainty of continuing. I would like to continue it but I know that means I would need a ton of gear and skill changes to beat post game. I'm not sure if I personally am ready for the grind. I didn't 100% my gameplay so I'm 100% uncertain on what there is to do now that I reached the post game. I know there is items in missing out on, gear I could have gotten, mini-metals I neglected, and more… but I just don't have the time to go back and look throughout the game since playing the game took me weeks. Is there any suggestions on what I should be doing in post game and what gear would be top priority so I don't have to go grinding for everything just to find out it was a waist? I'm like 50-60 for Hero and gang, have not been past the watchers point of the post game story, my gear lacks a ton, haven't done the Tickington quests, and I'm like 90% sure at this point in the game it is a grind for being the best and not sure what that would look like.
