    I loved DQ XI so much that I'm playing through the series in order. I just beat 2 on the Switch. Even this pared-back game is so charming. I really feel like I saved the world! On to 3!

    Difficulty spike in DQ XI or am I doing something wrong?

    So I just got dq 11 on the switch and I'm really enjoying it. I've played a lot of older jrpgs so I'm playing on the 2d mode. I just got to Gondolia and it's felt like the difficulty has shot us a lot. Leaving the last city the new party members was only a level above most my party members , so I assumed I was good. Then suddenly enemies started killing party members and when I tried to go in the dungeon for the area we had a party wipe. All our equipment is +3 and everything. I'm not sure if I need to grind some or if I'm missing some huge mechanic in the game that's needing my party. Any advice would be great, thank you!

    Tl;dr: dq 11 went from easy to hard out of nowhere as I entered gondolia. What am I doing wrong?

    When I got somehow further from the start ( teleported from the continent on which I started to the Italy-like city ) it seems the monsters are tougher than in DQ2, but that's good, because grinding is not mindless and I have to think while fighting thus I have more fun with the game.

    Frugal Quest

    You can tell I am cheap just by the way I play Dragon Quest 3. Return spell to Aliahan and stay at Moms for a free night of recovery. In the morning stock up on super cheap medical and antidote herbs and buy a wing of wyvern for the return trip back to the action. Thanks Mom I love you!

    Just downloaded Dragon Quest X, any tips/things I should know before starting?

    I've played every other Dragon Quest mainline game and a few of the spin-offs too, so I'm not unfamiliar with the series. I'm just not familiar with the MMO aspect of the game as I've never really played one before.

    I've done a bit of research and know you need a VPN to get around the IP block, are there any specific ones I should go for/avoid?

    Also this is my first time posting so please bear with me 😅 thanks!

    DQ11 pillars of light - how to use *spoiler*

    Hello all!

    Stumped on how to use the Pillars of Light. I have the harp and have tried to use it but keep getting message 'it can't be used here'.

    What am I missing? Tried on the boat, and on land.

    Oooooorrrr is it because I need to finish the storyline that got me the harp?

    When you say that the Android version of DQVIII is the worse you are kinda lying guys

    Look, I know you guys don't like it and you have your reasons and those are valid but you are lying when you make the version pass as the complete worse and you scare possible new people that may want to enjoy DQVIII but can't play the other versions for whatever reason.

    My opinion:

    See, IMO the best version would be the ps2 version because it has everything it has to have, the additional content on 3DS is great but the graphical hit is godawful and it is perfectly valid to not like that if you played the ps2 version first and dislike the see the game butchered like that. Besides some of the content like the new party characters don't even fit into the narrative as party memebers and feels like fan service if anything just like the Jessica Marriage thing.

    All the version have it's pros and cons:

    PS2(western release):

    Pro:

    • It's the original game with the additions that they put to the western release
    • Looks great

    Cons:

    • Doesn't have the 3DS content
    • You can't bank skill points
    • Alchemy pot is trash because you have to walk

    3DS Version:

    Pro:

    • The added content and features which include Instant alchemy and banking skill points

    Cons:

    • Looks godawful, they truly butchered the grapgic fidelity of this version
    • No Orchestra music
    • Censored

    Android:

    Pro:

    • Playable on almost any device that you probably already own ("dOn'T yOu gUyS hAvE pHoNeS?")
    • Quick save anywhere
    • Instant alchemy pot
    • You can see the skill trees when picking a skill to level up and you can bank skill points for later use
    • Looks very similar to the ps2 version because it is basically the japanese ps2 version translated

    Cons:

    • No Dragon soul at lvl 65
    • No Super Saiyan models on max tension (not sure of this but I remember when I played they didn't appeared on android, only played like 25% of the game)
    • No voice acting
    • No orchestra Music

    I believe all versions have their place but I am with you when I say that they could have made the mobile version better, but even if it is missing some features and I would first recommend the ps2 version I believe the Android is not that bad specially if you already experienced any of the other versions because it does have some features not present in the ps2 version and unlike the ps2 or 3ds you can quick save anywhere.

    Overall is a decent way to play the game but my point is to not completely dismiss it because maybe it fits for some people to play it there, some people like me really don't care much about the added 3ds changes and content and we just want to play a ps2 version but portable and that is the Android version for.

    Need hints (no straight up answer please) on where to go next

    I am currently on my first playthrough of DQ3 on Switch. I have in my collection 4 orbs, and from the altar on Realmland( southern island) I believe I am 2 orbs short.

    One is Yellow Orb, hinted by an NPC saying it got passed along from people to people. And I have no idea whats the other orb's color should be.

    Theres a few NPC mentioning Samaonsa, which can be reached by using travel gate with Last Key. And I think its where I will get the Gaia Sword to unseal the volcano. I think this is where I am supposed to go but from where though?

    I believe that one of the orbs is gotten from the lake north of Assalam( cant even sail into the lake waters).

    Any hints and helps appreciated.Sorry for using madeup translated names for places, I am playing the JP version.

    Just got the boat, grinding LMS on the unamed island on the corner of the map.

    I wonder if this is good enoght for the good chunk of what comes, if yes I might start farming money.

    [DQ11] Controller on PC not working on Xbox game pass version of game

    I've tried DS4windows, and x360emulator, and neither are able to get my controller working on the Game Pass PC version of DQ11.

    Anyone know of any fixes? Other game pass games and Steam games work just fine with my PS5 controller.

    I keep using executioner to finish the last of the two, I've tried using an Axe, Switching which one I kill last, but they still just say "I used the wrong technique, use the executioner" but I am , what am I doing wrong ?

    So I've beat mordegon.and went back in time. I've been looking up what to do and I see differnt stuff.Queen's Conch from Nautica, Kingsbarrow trial, Drustan trials,etc.

    Which are mandatory which isn't and what do I gain from this? If anyone has a guide or website that would help immensly,thank you
