Does Serena get 20 bonus skill points? Posted: 23 Jan 2022 07:38 PM PST I was looking at all of the expanded skill panels for each character, and it seems like every character except Serena has only one skill that gives the 10 bonus skill points. But Serena seems to have two: Staff of Salvation in Act 2 and Maximum HP +20 in Act 3. Does this mean that she will end up with 20 bonus points? Or do the bonus points from the first skill get taken away, given that she only learns that panel for Act 2? Or is it possible to not unlock that skill in Act 2 and thereby permanently miss out on 10 skill points? [link] [comments]

DQ XI: Did anyone else get frustrated with Act 2? Posted: 23 Jan 2022 02:58 PM PST So...recently I made a post complaining about the extra stories that were inserted at the beginning of Act 2 that you have to play through before returning to the main story. But now that I've been back to the main story for a while, I'm still feeling a bit of...I don't know.....frustration, but also disinterest and maybe even annoyance. I really enjoyed the first part of the game, but ever since Act 2 started, I've just felt like I've never been back "into" it yet. So far, the majority of Act 2 is finding all of your party members all over again. It feels like I've basically restarted the game! Aside from a few interesting stories, like Erik's backstory, there isn't much going on here. And now I've just reached Arboria and I find out that Veronica dies! Naturally, I fully expect her to be back eventually, but until then, I'm wondering how long I'm going to be without her. I was really hoping to finally get the party back together and get back to my old ways, but now I'm without a character that I used for the entirety of Act 1. It's really annoying to me when games do this. I don't enjoy being forced out of playing the game I've been playing all along, even if it's just temporarily. It makes me want to just rush to get back to where I feel comfortable. I know that Serena gains Veronica's spells and abilities, but I don't want to have to re-equip her to be something totally different than what her role is supposed to be. And I also know this probably won't last anyway, so it just seems like an unnecessary diversion or distraction. Did anyone else feel any of this when playing? I've only ever heard great things about the game, so I was kind of surprised that Act 2 becomes such a drag. Maybe other people don't mind this kind of stuff as much as I do. I really hope Act 3 returns to "normal" again (which for me means simply playing through the story of the game without these artificial restraints or changes). [link] [comments]
DQ XI is simply way too unbalanced Posted: 23 Jan 2022 01:04 PM PST there is two ways the game can go, or you one shot everything, or everything one shots you, there is no difficulty, there is no strategy, just oneshots through the game, im playing with the Draconian Quest to have tougher enemies since everything was way too easy, but now im on my way to Arboria for the second time (no more info about it due to spoilers for anyone who hasn't played yet), and all of the big enemies and bosses have 3 turns and even before i can have my first turn 2 of my characters die instantly, and the only way to kill them is to make Rab use Sap and kill them with Unbrilded Blades, literally, the only character that has fun mechanics is Erik because you need to set him up properly to deal insane damage, but everything else is almost useless, and half of the characters are out of the question because they simply get one shotted too easily, like Veronica and Serena, this game is amazing, but the difficulty settings are some of the worst i've ever seen [link] [comments] |
