Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:02 AM PST i rented it when it first came out and i got to the part where you are in the gondolia town and the guards are chasing you. i returned it as i had it for a while and i wanted to have another game sent to me. one reason that prevented me from keeping it is that i was afraid that since i have played it for a while that it was going to get too hard for me at somepoint. if i managed to make it this far do you think i will have trouble progressing in the game. i usually have trouble with most games and i don't want to get it and be frustrated with the game. I made it further than i do in most games i have played. i struggle with most rpgs unless theey are mario and luigi, paper mario, pokemon and ni no kuni type games. i would have considered the switch version but since i have made a significant amount of progress in the ps4 version and the fact that the switch version costs $60 makes me not want to buy it for something that i may get to frustrated with. i was also wondering if i was near the end of the game. i don't want to buy if if i'm only a couple of hours away from beating the game. please let me know if i should buy this game or if you think it will get too hard for me so it would not be worth me buying the game. What do you think about a DQIX remaster? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 08:59 PM PST I absolutely loved Dragon Quest 9, I first got it with my DS when I was around 4 or 5, I had no idea what I was doing and barely managed to scrape through each boss. Me and my brother would use the multiplayer feature to play together. It took us 4 years to beat the game. But when we did we literally jumped for joy. I put down the game for a couple years when I stumbled across a video showing someone fighting a boss I'd never heard of. It was Estark. I was about 10 at this point and did some research and found out that there was an entire post game I'd never heard of. Sadly the WiFi shop didn't work anymore. I played the game through several more times up to the point where I had baramos at level 17 and I think I had Dragonlord at level 20. Anyways I was so disappointed I couldn't access most of the post game. A couple days ago my brother, who is 18 now literally barged through my door to tell me he found a save editor so we could play the entire post game. I still have my copy and the original DS which is probably a decade old now. Sorry for the ramble but Dragon Quest 9 is a game I hold very close to heart and the mere thought of a remake that I could get my friends to get the game and we could all play through the same game. My friends never actually even heard of Dragon Quest until I told them about it a year ago. The idea of getting together to grind out a tough boss fight is just amazing. That's why I think DQ IX should get a remake, what do you guys think? [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Dec 2019 09:51 AM PST Topic, please. I bought the physical copy of DQ 1-3 for the Switch from Play-Asia and it's coming in the mail but I'm not sure if it gives Gold Coins. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Dec 2019 09:46 AM PST I recently got DQ5 and am about 5:30 into the game, really enjoying it so far, but I'm extremely confused on how the monster system works. There was a guy in the town with a casino who vaguely explained it, and I don't think I can do it yet, but it was very unclear. I think I have to get a wagon or something like that then they'll just randomly ask me if they can join after defeating them in battle. I'm just normally fighting everything, so am I doing something wrong, do I have to wait until later in the game, or is it something I missed? I'm currently just past the second visit to the castle I can't remember the name of, and am currently preparing for the tower with the mirror in it. [link] [comments]

Dragon Warrior VS Dragon quest Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:00 AM PST I grew up playing the original Dragon Warrior on the NES. My wife and kids gifted me a switch lite for my on the road travels since I am a truck driver. I bought Dragon quest 1 and 3. I played 1-4 on the NES and loved the series. Dragon Warrior 1 holds a special place in my heart in the series. I have been playing 1 on the switch and can't help but feel like it is actually easier then the original. I googled the enemies to get a list and found they decreased the health and increased the gold and xp gained from some monsters. Is there a reason they did this or why they did this? Regardless I have been still enjoying it but it has thrown me off some to have so much gold after minimal grinding. Goldman drops 650gold versus the 200 I am used to. [link] [comments]

Can you beat Dragon Quest 11 with just Hero, Erik, Veronica, and Serena? Posted: 26 Dec 2019 04:29 PM PST I'm somewhat far into the game (got the 5th dude recently I don't care about because he's kinda a jerk). But is putting all of my grinding into the first 4 characters gonna doom me for the late game? [link] [comments]
