    How effective would you say status effects are in DQXI.

    I'm trying to convince someone to get DQXI. The biggest issue they have with RPGs - and SE ones specifically - is that they give you spells and abilities that induce status effects like sleep, poison, etc., but they're never actually worth using because they rarely work on enemies and never work on bosses.

    I feel like the bosses in DQXI have been surprisingly susceptible to these things, though I did just try casting Snooze on Dora-In-Grey several times and it didn't work. Maybe being able to actually use snooze on Tentacular was the exception, not the rule, I dunno.

    I was thinking what to play while waiting for a FF7 Remake (huge fan of ff7). I just feel like an good ol fashion jRPG. Im really jrpg hungry actually for years now. I never felt the same since ff7 and 8.

    The only thing Im a little worried is the games story level. I loved the drama of ffvii the serious issues it would deliver with the story. The darkish parts. Im afraid I'll miss it playing DQ, still Im looking forward for playing it.

    I just hope it wont be a huge disaster like nino kuni, which made me feel like it was made for 7 year olds so I just felt bored and old and it hurt lol.

    SPOILERS

    So I just finished the game (haven't started post game, don't spoil me) and I decided to finish every quest before going on.

    I'm trying to do this quest where you have to defeat a monster that only appears when it's raining. Thing is, it never rains! And the cow is bugged, it always says "The clouds should clear up at !", what does "at !" means? Doesn't even give me a time? I spent 2 hours yesterday waiting and nothing.

    How are you expected to beat the new superboss in DQXI?

    Timewyrm and its tail, in my opinion, is just in general a terrible superboss.

    It's literally just a pallete swap of Mordragon and its tail, adds nothing worthwhile to the story, and doesn't even have any good rewards.

    I'm at level 99 with all of the best equipment, and it consistently kills at least one of my members each turn. You either spend all of your turns healing or attack and die?

    Not to mention the Yggdragon's Blessing + Magic Burst method strategy doesn't really consistently work considering how many turns you have to waste just to set it up, and they can use Disruptive Wave anyway. And if one of your party members gets a status ailment then you can't even use Yggragon's Blessing.

    I’ve just rediscovered Dragon Quest Monster Joker 2, and I’m amazed

    The game is still pretty solid. The story is a bit on the weak side, but the gameplay is top notch. The mechanic of breeding is the best I've seen, it's really rewarding and fun

    And the amount of post game is enormous, it's really impressive. Am I the only one who played this game?

    DQXI - Is this possible to get to lvl99 with the Reduced Exerience DQ?

    So, yeah, I'm currently re-playing through the game, on Switch this time, with the Reduced Experience and Super Strong Enemies Draconian Quests (and I'm loving it).

    I'm nearing the post-game and was wondering how I will be able to level-up.

    I know that the usual strategy is to use the Electro Light and Hallelujah pep powers to fight metal slimes and gain more experience.

    But the thing with the reduced experience DQ is that, if you do not kill an enemy which gives experience before using Electro Light, when you use it and kill the metal slimes, they will not yield any experience.

    So, I will need to find enemies that still give experience until level 98. Do they even exist?

    I'm playing Dragon Quest 11 on the switch and (spoilers) I'm doing the character specific mission with sylv, jade, etc. I keep hearing a song play in the background but I can't figure out what it is called or which game it is originally from. You can hear the music at 5:30 in this video. If you can tell the name of the song or what game it comes from that would mean a lot to me. Thank you!
